Posted by Derrick Harper on July 13, 2020 in

There are just three matchweeks left in the 2019-20 English Premier League season and this week the champions from Liverpool FC travel to North London to face ninth-place Arsenal. Liverpool needs eight points from their final three games to set a Premier League record with 101 points, one more than Manchester City tallied in 2017-18. Meanwhile Arsenal have a chance at grabbing a Europa League spot as they head into the final three games on 50 points, five points behind sixth-place Wolves for the final spot in Europe. Let’s have a preview of one of the upcoming matches so you can make your bets against their Premier League odds.

Liverpool v. Arsenal Betting Preview

These teams have met twice this season with Liverpool winning at home 3-1 in Premier League play on August 24 and again on penalty kicks in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on October 30. In the first game Liverpool built a 3-0 lead on a goal from Joel Matip and a Mo Salah brace. The EFL Cup game was a wild 5-5 affair as Arsenal blew leads of 3-1 and 4-2 before Dani Ceballos missed in the shootout allowing the Reds to advance.

Liverpool FC Outlook: March Toward 100

The champions had their first home game that didn’t result in a win on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by mid-table Burnley in their first game without injured captain Jordan Henderson. Andrew Robertson scored the Reds lone goal in the 34th minute but Jay Rodriguez equalized for Burnley in the 69th minute.

Salah has 19 league goals on the season while Sadio Mane has 16 and the duo have combined for 16 Premier League assists. Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has 12 league assists, mostly from his brilliant free kicks. Alisson is second in the league with 13 clean sheets despite starting just 26 league games while Liverpool have allowed a league-best 27 goals.

Arsenal FC Outlook: Charge for Europe

Arsenal lost a hard-fought North London Derby against Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday to fall into ninth place. Alexandre Lacazette gave the Gunners a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute before Heung-min Son tied the match three minutes alter. Both teams had plenty of chances to take the lead and Spurs finally got the game-winner from Toby Alderweireld in the 81st minute.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads the Gunners with 20 Premier League goals on the season, three off the league lead. Lacazette trails with nine goals while Nicols Pepe leads the team with six assists. Startng goalie Bernd Leno was injured June 20 and Emiliano Martinez, who allowed five goals against Liverpool in October, has allowed four goals in his six starts since taking over.

Liverpool v. Arsenal Betting Lines

Arsenal can’t afford to look ahead to Saturday’s FA Cup Semifinal against Manchester City as they need three wins to have any chance to reel in Spurs, Sheffield United and Wolves and get back in the Europa League. Beating Liverpool isn’t an easy task anywhere and while the Reds aren’t as sharp as they were before clinching the title, look for them to end strong as they go after records.
