The seventh edition of the International Champions Cup will get underway on July 16th. This tournament involves some of the top soccer clubs in the world. Each of the 12 teams involved in the International Champions Cup will play three matches. At the end of the three matches whoever has the most points wins the title. 3 points are earned for a victory, while 2 points are earned for a shootout victory. A loss in a shootout earns 1 point. If there is a tie amongst points, a set of tiebreakers is set and determined, and then a champion is crowned.

The 12 teams that have been invited to participate in this year’s International Champions Cup are Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Benfica, Chivas de Guadalajara, Juventus, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

This tournament will take place in 16 venues in six different countries, many of which are in the world’s largest cities. Some of these cities include Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, Chicago, Singapore, London, Washington DC, Shanghai, Kansas City, Charlotte, Stockholm, and Arlington. This tournament will be held from July 16th until August 10th.

Last year’s champion, who will be back to defend their title this year, was Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham won two matches and lost their third in a shootout. They claimed the championship by goal differential over Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

Some other past champions of the International Champions Cup that are in the field this year include Juventus, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid. These teams will be looking to add another International Champions Cup to their resume.

This is a hard tournament to predict, as the timing of this tournament can be tricky. This tournament takes place after numerous international competitions. This year, the International Champions Cup will be held after the Gold Cup, the Copa America, and the African Cup of Nations. If players from their club teams played in any of these tournaments, they may not be playing in the International Champions Cup.

Let’s preview some of the teams that could be on top at the end of the International Champions Cup.

2019 International Champions Cup Betting Preview

Tottenham Hotspur

The defending champions will be looking to repeat. None of the Tottenham Hotspur players have recently played in any international competitions, so they should be fresh coming into this tournament. This team is always good, and they can compete with anyone in the world.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich just wins championships. They have yet to win an International Champions Cup, so they will be trying to get this elusive title. Their players should be well rested and ready to play in this tournament.

Benfica

The Portuguese league champions ended the season on a roll. Joao Felix has become one of soccer’s rising young superstars, so he will want to show the world how good he is.

Inter Milan

Antonio Conte takes over as the head coach. What better way to start your tenure than to win this tournament?

Juventus

If Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Juventus, they have a great shot at winning. If he doesn’t play, then Juventus probably is a middle of the road team.
