The CONCACAF Gold Cup is nearing an end, as we’re headed to the semi-finals. On Tuesday, July 2nd, the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona will host the first semi-final match between Haiti and Mexico. On Wednesday, July 3rd, Nissan Stadium will have the second semi-final match when Team USA takes on Jamaica. Let’s take a look at the Soccer Odds while making some predictions.

2019 Gold Cup Semifinals Odds, Preview & Predictions

Haiti vs Mexico

There isn’t a ton of history between these Haiti and Mexico. Since 1953, they have only met six times, with Mexico winning five of the six with one draw. In their six matches, Team Mexico has outscored Team Haiti 22-2. These two last met in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Gold Cup, with Mexico taking a 4-0 victory.

Haiti has never advanced past the quarterfinals, so this is a historical achievement for the Haitians. Team Mexico has had a ton of success in the Gold Cup, as they have won this tournament 10 times, with three of those victories coming within the last 10 years.

In order to get to the semi-finals, the Haitians had to defeat Team Canada. Haiti overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the favored Canadian team. All three of Haiti’s goals came in the second half. With the victory, the Haitians extended their winning streak to five straight matches.

Haiti enters the semi-final match with a perfect 4-0-0 record during the Gold Cup tournament. During their run, Haiti has scored nine total goals, with seven of those coming during the second half of their matches.

Mexico was fortunate to make it to the semi-finals as they played Costa Rica to a 1-1 tie, but won 5-4 on penalty kicks. Mexico’s Goalkeeper knocked away Costa Rica’s last penalty kick to ice the victory for Team Mexico.

With the draw with Costa Rica, Mexico’s seven-match winning streak was stopped. Mexico has scored three or more goals in seven of its last eight matches, so Team Mexico can score goals. Combine that with the fact that in two of its last three matches with Mexico, Haiti has given up four goals to Mexico, and you have reason to believe that Team Mexico is the stronger of the two teams.

USA vs Jamaica

In the second semi-final match to be played on Wednesday in Nashville, the United States will take on Jamaica. This will be the third straight Gold Cup where the US and Jamaica have met in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Team USA advanced to Wednesday’s match with a 1-0 victory over Curacao. The Americans were outplayed by Curacao but still managed to take the victory. The American team has scored twelve goals in its four matches while holding their opponents scoreless throughout the tournament.
