The National Hockey League season is right around the corner. Here is a look at the top Stanley Cup Odds favorites according to the experts.

Updated Stanley Cup Odds – September 18th Edition

Toronto Maple Leafs 13/2

Adding John Tavares to Mitchell Marner and Auston Matthews creates a three-headed monster that many teams will struggle with. When scoring is a premium in the league, having three that can do it, seemingly at will when they are hot, is something teams will pay for. None did that better than Toronto.

They will control the puck and get plenty of shots on goal this season, plus I’d bet they will be in the top 25% in scoring efficiency as well, a lethal combination.

Tampa Bay Lightning 15/2

After setting team records for wins and points last season, the team remains mostly the same, with all of their critical contributors with one more year (or more) on their contracts.

The team of superstars will likely be blown up after this last push, so look for them to be very active in chasing Lord Stanley’s cup this year.

Winnipeg Jets 19/2

Patrik Laine is a stud. At just 20 years old, he has already scored 80 goals in his short professional career. The Jets hadn’t had a playoff win ever, until last season, which led to a very convincing playoff run. Look for added confidence and cohesiveness from this team this year.

Getting that first playoff win, I cannot help but hear Steve Young shouting about that monkey off their backs. This team is dangerous!

Nashville Predators 11/1

Bottom line is they won it all in 2017 and followed that performance up with an exit in the playoffs to a strong Winnipeg team last season. Not many changes to make, but possibly small tweaks could lead to a reappearance in the finals.

Vegas Golden Knights 11/1

The hottest team in hockey last year was the expansion team from Vegas. Look for their meteoric rise to continue this season.

They have an owner that is willing to spend the cash to get free agents and to keep the talent they currently have. We feel like this team will be something of a menace to the league for years to come.

Washington Capitals 11/1

Well, they did win last season. They were the best team down the stretch last season and they still have one of the most prolific scorers in the game. No reason to place them any lower.

Boston Bruins 12/1

Overall, their top line might be the best in the sport, but behind them, the scoring goes from a flood to a trickle really quickly.

The Bruins are among the favorites at the Stanley Cup Odds.

They do have some younger players that can make an impact. If guys like McAvoy and Pastrnak can step up, this team will be a contender worth talking about.

Pittsburgh Penguins 12/1

Sidney Crosby. Can we say it again? Sidney Crosby. The team has three players in Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel that finished in the top 10 in the league in scoring. Yep, this team will be one of the front-runners, in fact, they’re our bet to win it.

Enjoy the National Hockey League season and good luck. Be sure to check back for the latest Stanley Cup Odds!
