Top NHL Betting Games of the Week

Wednesday: Montreal at Washington

If you can take this straight up, then you’ll take the Capitals all day long. However, I would still take the Caps as high as -2 in this one. They are streaking on offense, and the Canadiens are hitting that point in the season when their playoff hopes, once sky-high, are now circling the drain. I like the Caps to thump the Canadiens hard at home.

Thursday: Winnipeg at Dallas

This is the second half of a home-and-home series that the Stars won 5-3 up in Winnipeg. The Jets are on the outside looking in at the Western Conference playoff race, and the Stars are just coming off a three-game losing streak. I would take the Stars by 1 or 1.5 in this game, particularly at home.

Thursday: Edmonton at Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are atop the Pacific Division, and the Oilers are scuffling along at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. The Kings are looking to solidify their place as the #2 seed in the West, if not catch Chicago or Dallas atop the conference standings. Take the Kings by 1 or 1.5 in this one, if not 2.

Friday: Minnesota at Washington

Take a look at my thoughts up there for the Montreal/Washington game. The Wild are another team that are struggling to contend. They didn’t have the high hopes that Montreal did, but they are also having to work hard to string consecutive wins together. They are heading into the home rink of one of the two or three top teams in the entire league, so I would take the Caps by up to 2 goals in this one.

Friday: Tampa Bay at New Jersey

The Lightning have found their winning ways again, and while they won’t be as highly seeded in the playoffs as they were last year, they could push just as deep into the postseason. They take on a Devils team that has the top defense in the NHL — but the worst offense. Even so, I like the Devils to put the clamps on the Lightning offense. I would take the “under” in this game rather than picking a side.

Saturday: New York Rangers at Dallas

This is a marquee matchup as one of the top teams in the East takes on one of the elite West teams. You never know these days whether the Stars’ defense will show up, but I know that both offenses will show up. I would take the “over” in this game as long as it was 5.5 or below, because both the Blueshirts and the Stars will be lighting the lamp in this one.
