The National Hockey League has moved beyond the new year, and ready for a final stretch of games in three months that leads to the postseason. There are some excellent games on the ice this week, and we have all the best for you, including the latest odds. Let’s take a look at our Top NHL Betting Picks of the Week.

Top NHL Betting Picks of the Week – January 9th Edition

St. Louis Blues over Florida Panthers – Tuesday

The St. Louis Blues have struggled a bit lately, but one of the teams to beat in the Western Conference are at home in this game. The Panthers have struggled on the road, and are not a great offensive team. Even the Blues offense should be able to slide pucks by James Reimer in the net. The Blues win this home game on Tuesday.

Chicago Blackhawks over Minnesota Wild – Wednesday

The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to start a winning streak, as they need it. The Blackhawks won on Sunday at home, and get another chance on Wednesday. Corey Crawford is still out for Chicago but look for the Blackhawks offense to be the key unit here against a Minnesota team that has also struggled at times. The Wild have 47 points, and are 6th in the division, while the Blackhawks have 46 points. Look for Chicago to win at home.

Washington Capitals over Carolina Hurricanes – Thursday

The Capitals picked up a big win in overtime on Sunday over St. Louis. Washington is not the elite regular season team that they have been the past few seasons, but this team is still faring well in the Eastern Conference.

The Hurricanes shouldn't be your NHL Betting Pick against the Capitals.

Carolina is a struggling bunch that is fighting like crazy to stay above water for the postseason. The Panthers are 9 points back of Washington. Look for them to fall 11 points down as the Capitals down the Hurricanes.

Edmonton Oilers over Arizona Coyotes – Friday

The Edmonton Oilers got off to a terrible start this season, but have made their way up a bit. The Oilers first goal is to get to .500, and they are just 4 wins away from doing that. Look for them to make it 3, as they score on Antti Raanta early and often in this game. The Oilers have the firepower to light up the scoreboard, and that’s what will be done in this road game. The Oilers over the Coyotes on Friday.

New York Rangers over New York Islanders – Saturday

A rivalry game on Saturday afternoon. Just 3 points separate these two teams, but in the Metropolitan there is not much room for error. The Islanders are in 8th, while the Rangers sit in 4th. Henrik Lundqvist has been pretty solid this season, and this seems like a prime opportunity to show the state of New York which team holds king in the city. The Rangers should skate by the Islanders on Saturday.
