Game 3 saw rookie netminder Matt Murray stop an incredible 47 of 49 shots from the Washington attack as Pittsburgh simply refused to lose. Find out more about the latest NHL spread here.

Why should you bet on Washington?

Alex Ovechkin and Justin Williams brought the Capitals back to the brink of tying Game 3, tallying in the third period. The problem came in the first period, when Patric Hornqvist and Tom Kuhnhackl lit the lamp a minute apart, putting the Caps in a hole that became impossible to dig out of. The Capitals need to get back to the advantage in physicality and speed that carried them to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. They also need to re-commit to the solid defensive coverages that made them the second-best defense in the NHL for the regular season.

Why should you put your money on the Penguins?

The Penguins found ways to skate circles around the New York Rangers and make them look silly in the first round, and they appear to be on the verge of doing the same thing to the Capitals. It helps having an unbelievable goaltending performance. The Penguins might have to play Game 4 without Kris Letang, whose hit in the first period brought him a two-minute minor but could bring him a suspension, so check the latest reports before posting your bets. However, right now the Penguins have a dizzying offense and a defense that is almost impossible to penetrate.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Capitals to find their defensive game and expand their aggressiveness on offense. I’m predicting a 4-2 Caps win.
