Pittsburgh at Nashville Stanley Cup Finals Game 6 Betting Odds & Preview

The Pittsburgh Penguins looked vulnerable after dropping Games 3 and 4 of these Stanley Cup Finals in Nashville by a combined score of 9-2. Then, of course, they came back and showed us all why they are the defending Stanley Cup champions, delivering an absolute rout of the Nashville Predators, 6-0, on Thursday night in Game 5. Now the Predators stand on the brink of elimination, with Game 6 set for Sunday night back down in Music City. Let’s take a closer look at the latest NHL betting odds for this matchup.

Why should you bet on the Penguins?

Remember when Pekka Rinne was playing solid goal again for the Predators in Games 3 and 4? Not so much in Game 5. It took just 91 seconds for the Penguins to score, as Justin Schultz lit the lamp. Bryan Rust and Evgeni Malkin also scored in the first period, sending Rinne to the bench during the first intermission in favor of backup Juuse Saros. Sidney Crosby did not score, but he did deliver a physical message to Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban, bouncing his head off the ice in a dustup near the end of the first period. If the Penguins can deliver that same energy level in Game 6, they’ll be hoisting the Cup Sunday night.

Why should you put your money on the Predators?

As poorly as Nashville has played in the three games in Pittsburgh to this point, they have dominated the action down on their home ice. Of the four Stanley Cups that Pittsburgh has won, all four clinching victories have come on the road. However, Nashville — the 16th seed in these playoffs — will not go quietly into the night. I see them bringing that swarming style back to the ice and making things much tougher for the Penguins in Game 5. I also see Rinne returning to his home playoff form and standing tall in goal.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I have become a huge fan of the energy that the Predators exude on the ice in these playoffs. I see them coming out with confidence and sending things back to Pittsburgh for Game 7 with a 3-2 win.
