Nashville at Anaheim NHL Odds Analysis

Posted by Aaron . on April 26, 2016 in

On Wednesday night, the Nashville Predators will be back in Anaheim for Game 7 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series. The Predators ended a three-game skid in the series with a 3-1 home win in Game 6, pushing a postseason series to seven games for the first time in franchise history. It was James Neal who tallied the go-ahead goal in the second period, and now all the chips are down in the shadow of Disneyland to see who will advance to the semifinals. Find out the updated NHL online betting odds here.

Why should you bet on Nashville?

Nashville had entered Game 6 in five previous playoff series, always down 3-2, and had lost all five of those opportunities. Captain Shea Weber praised the team for their refusal to give up and ended up sealing the win with an empty-net tally with just 10 seconds remaining in the third period. Pekka Rinne returned to the same solid form that had brought the Predators wins in Games 1 and 2 of this series, stopping 26 Anaheim shots. If Nashville can keep that same level of grit and passion on defense in Anaheim’s building, they could pull off the wild card shocker and make the semifinals.

Why should you put your money on the Ducks?

The Ducks need to get a home Game 7 monkey off their backs. In 2014, they lost in this same situation to the Kings, and in 2013, it was Detroit that eliminated them. However, Anaheim has several new players to a Game 7, such as winger David Perron. The Ducks have largely been able to solve Pekka Rinne in net, so they just need to persist in Game 7. Frederik Andersen has been terrific in net for the Ducks since taking over for John Gibson to start Game 3, so the Ducks could ride these trends to the semifinals.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Nashville to keep the tide flowing in their direction and pull off the Game 7 upset. I’m predicting a 4-2 Predators win.
