On Wednesday night, the New York Islanders host the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. The Islanders lead the series, 2-1, after taking a 4-3 overtime win from the Panthers in Brooklyn on Monday night. All three games in the series thus far have started with a Florida tally, but the Isles have roared back to take two of the contests. Find out more about the NHL betting odds here.

Why should you bet on Florida?

Before the video review era, the Panthers would have put up a 3-0 lead that would have been all but insurmountable. However, after Aaron Ekblad zipped the puck into the back of the Islanders’ net from the bottom of the faceoff circle, the Islanders called for a review of offsides, and it turned out that Florida was off by a matter of centimeters. Then the whole momentum shifted, and the Islanders drew two quick penalties to go up 5-on-3 of the Panthers, and then a one-timer got the Islanders on the board. If those breaks don’t all go New York’s way, then it’s the Panthers who are up 2-1. The breaks can’t keep going to the Islanders, can they?

Why should you put your money on the Islanders?

These Islanders are fun to watch — and the most fun players are the youngsters, such as the line of Alan Quine, Shane Prince and Ryan Strome, who fly around the ice and provide all sorts of energy. They never stop attacking during their time on the ice, and Shane Prince was rewarded with his presence near the net with a goal at 11:48 of the second period to make it 3-2. Then the Islanders drew another penalty and tied the game up shortly before the end of the second. It is hustle and effort that are carrying the Islanders so far, and young teams often can keep that effort up for longer than their veteran counterparts.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Islanders to keep up their fury in front of the home fans. I’m predicting another close game, but I see New York winning, 3-2.
