Edmonton at Anaheim NHL Playoffs Betting Lines Prediction Game 2

After knocking out the San Jose Sharks in six games, the Edmonton Oilers showed that the second round of the playoffs don’t intimidate them either, winning a roller coaster of a game on Wednesday, taking down the Anaheim Ducks on the road, 5-3. The Oilers had built a 3-1 lead, only to see the Ducks come back to tie before adding two more tallies to get the final result. Let’s take a closer look at the NHL lines for Game 2 of the series.

Why should you bet on the Oilers?

The Stanley Cup playoffs are all about role players stepping up and providing heroics, and it was defenseman Adam Larsson’s turn on Wednesday. He scored four goals in the entire regular season but had two in just the third period of Game 1. Mark Letestu also had a pair of goals, both on the power play as the Oilers’ speed forced the Ducks to take penalties — and the Oil cashed in. The Ducks had not lost in regulation in their last 18 contests, but now they are just the latest team to witness the swarming offense that Edmonton brings.

Why should you put your money on the Ducks?

Expect the Ducks to regroup before facing the Oilers at home on Friday night. Anaheim had not permitted any goals in the third period in their sweep of the Calgary Flames, but then they gave up four in the last 20 minutes of Game 1. Edmonton did benefit from some lucky bounces, as Larsson’s second goal clanged off Duck blueliner Josh Manson and ricocheted under Anaheim goalie John Gibson, who had 27 saves on the night. If you like Anaheim, you see them taking charge of the tempo instead of letting Edmonton run amok in the third period. The Ducks have to find a way to open up their offense without letting the Oilers have free reign in the Ducks’ zone when they have the puck.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I see the Ducks making the fixes they need to so that they can even this series on home ice. The Oilers are one of the scariest teams left in the playoffs, but the Ducks have the savvy to take a 4-3 Game 2 win.
