Now that the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs have ended, and the second round is underway, there are eight teams in contention to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup at the end of the Stanley Cup Finals. We’ll break down some of the top contenders to win it all and take a look at their odds to win the Stanley Cup.

Updated 2021 Stanley Cup Betting Odds & Picks

Colorado Avalanche +110

At the time of this writing, the Avalanche hold a 2-1 lead over the Las Vegas Golden Knights in their second-round playoff matchup. After taking a commanding 2-0 lead, the Avalanche lost Game 3 at Las Vegas by a score of 3-2.

Colorado has an explosive offense. They have outscored the Golden Knights 12-6 thus far in their series. They have outscored their opponents in the playoffs 32-13. Nathan McKinnon has been great in the playoffs. He has scored eight goals, with 13 points. During the regular season, the Avs had four players who averaged nearly a point per game.

Tampa Bay Lightning +250

After winning 6-4 on Saturday, the Tampa Bay Lightning has taken a 3-1 lead over the Carolina Hurricanes in their second-round playoff series. Even though they finished third in a highly contested Central Division, the Lightning looked poised to make another run at the Stanley Cup.

Nikita Kucherov missed the whole regular season, but now that he’s back for the playoffs, he looks like he hasn’t missed a beat. His 17 points are tops in the NHL playoffs, and he’s leading the powerful Lightning offense.

With a great defense and one of the league’s top goaltenders in Andrei Vasilevskiy, the Lightning have the combination of offense and defense to win their second straight Stanley Cup.

Boston Bruins +550

After yesterday’s 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders, the Bruins and Isles series is knotted at two games apiece. Boston hasn’t played as well as they expected to play. Patrice Bergeron hasn’t been his normal self, and Boston hasn’t been able to catch many breaks.

Between the officiating not helping them, missing out on some power-play opportunities, and just not scoring goals when they should, Boston has found themselves in a vulnerable position. If they can get some of these issues fixed up, the Bruins still have a great shot at winning it all.

Las Vegas Golden Knights +900

Even though the Colorado Avalanche dominated the first two games of their series, the Golden Knights rebounded to take Game 3 of the series. Now behind 2-1, Game 4 on Sunday night will be crucial for Las Vegas.

Being back in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was a huge boost for the Knights. Marc Andre Fleury will need to be huge in goal if the Knights want to win this one. Both the Knights and the Avalanche have the capability to score goals in bunches, so it will be the defense that will be the key to this series. The Knights have a very capable defense, and it will need to step things up if the Knights want to continue on in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
