NFL Betting: Top Prime Time Games to Watch This Season

Written by on August 18, 2021

Each season, the NFL makes sure to put some of the premier games on their schedule in the prime-time television slots. They want as many viewers as possible to watch the top teams in the league face off. These games also tend to draw a lot of betting action as well. When you have two good teams facing off, the numbers are all broken down prior to the game, and you know what the trends are. Let’s take a look at some of the top prime time games of the year that you’ll want to bet on against the NFL odds, and hopefully, you’ll come out a winner!

Top Prime Time NFL Betting Games of the Season

Thursday, September 9th – Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This prime-time extravaganza will open up the NFL season on NBC. The defending Super Bowl champions who return all 22 of their starters will face off against America’s Team. This one should be a fun one to watch, as Dallas has one of, if not the best offense in the NFL. Dak Prescott will be back under center, and he’ll have a plethora of weapons at his disposal. The slimmed-down Ezekiel Elliott will be ready to go, and Prescott will have CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, and Michael Gallup as his receiving corps.

Tampa Bay’s defense slowed down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense in the Super Bowl. We’ll see if they’ll be able to slow down the potent Cowboys attack. Speaking of defense, there hasn’t been much “D” in Dallas as of late. The Cowboys’ defense won’t be very strong again this season, so look for Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski to exploit the Dallas defense.

Tampa Bay is favored by 6.5. The over/under is set at 51.5. We predict that there’ll be a lot of points scored in this one, as both offenses have scoring capabilities.

Sunday, October 10th – Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs

This Sunday Night Football matchup will be a rematch of last year’s AFC Title tilt. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are two of the top favorites to win the league MVP award this season. Even though the Chiefs’ defense improved throughout last season, Allen and company were able to score some points on them. Likewise with Mahomes and his potent offense. This should be a fun one to watch, and we should see some offense in this contest.

November 3rd – Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New England Patriots

Ever since Tom Brady left the Patriots, this is the game that everyone has been waiting for. The Belichick vs. Brady matchup will dominate the headlines heading into this one. New England struggled last season, as many players sat out due to COVID, while others missed a lot of time due to injury. Cam Newton is back under center for New England, but we could see rookie Mac Jones at the helm by November.

As for the Bucs, we know that Brady will want to score as many points as possible against his former team. Tom Brady will come into this one with a chip on his shoulder, as many say that Belichick, not Brady, was the main reason for New England’s success over the last few years.

Needless to say, this one will have a lot of storylines and will be a must-watch game.
