Have you gotten past the NFL draft drama and started planning for the 2016 NFL regular season? If you haven’t, maybe it’s about time you start planning ahead right now rather than wait for the training camp and preseason news to cloud your judgment about the best NFL lines. Yes, it’s probably a bit too early to take some of the lines too seriously, but that has never stopped us before from taking a poke at the early betting odds, so why stop now? Here are our top online betting picks for 2016 NFL Week 2.

Top Betting Odds and Picks for NFL Week 2

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (-4), Sunday, Sept. 18

NFL Week 2 Pick: Pittsburgh (-4)

Andy Dalton and the Bengals have been a solid regular-season team and that doesn’t figure to change much this season. But this is a divisional encounter and Pittsburgh will want to take advantage of playing at home, so taking the Steelers to get the job done at home sounds like the most reasonable play here.

Kansas City at Houston (PK), Sunday, Sept. 18

NFL Week 2 Pick: Kansas City (PK)

So, Brock Osweiler has got the city of Houston dreamy-eyed of a big year, and you can’t fault them much for their hopes. Unfortunately for the Texans, the Chiefs are the better team, both offensively and defensively, and the visitors have plenty of proven chemistry (as was evidenced last year). With that, you’d be a fool not to pick KC for the win in this encounter.

Tennessee at Detroit (-5), Sunday, Sept. 18

NFL Week 2 Pick: Detroit (-5)

The Lions will be coming into this game off a clash against Indianapolis in Week 1 and that will mean two things. If the Lions win against the Colts, they will enter this Week 2 clash with a lot of motivation. If they lose, they will have an extra chip on their shoulder at home in search of a first win. Either way, Detroit will be hungrier for the win against a Tennessee team that is still in rebuilding mode, offering the Lions a chance to win big and take both SU and ATS in this game.

Tampa Bay at Arizona (-9), Sunday, Sept. 18

NFL Week 2 Pick: Tampa Bay (+9)

While it is clear that the Cardinals are the better team here and the home advantage will favor them greatly, I saw enough of Jameis Winston to believe that he will cause some trouble in this road clash. Add that to the defensive improvements expected for Tampa Bay, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Buccaneers played well enough to cover this rather huge spread.

Indianapolis at Denver (-5), Sunday, Sept. 18

NFL Week 2 Pick: Indianapolis (+5)

I may be wrong about this, but I have a feeling that Denver will have a down year, following the loss of some key starters in the team. Denver’s defense will probably keep this one tight and maybe even win it by a field goal, but I don’t see the Colts getting run down and beaten by 5-plus points.
