Titans vs Texans NFL Week 12 Lines & Expert Pick

Two division rivals turn their attention to one another this Sunday. The Texans lead the division, but the Titans will do whatever they can to catch them. It’s a relatively tight race for the AFC South title, but behind a record 7 straight victories, can the Texans be stopped at home? The Titans and new head coach, Mike Vrabel are certainly going to try. Look for heavy doses of Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis to take the pressure of whoever gets the start at quarterback for Tennessee. Titans vs Texans could get interesting early.

At this point, the spread sits at six points. The Titans come in as road dogs and the Texans get the favor at home. Much of this is due to the recent injury to Marcus Mariota so we will have to wait to see how exactly that injury shakes down. Blaine Gabbert doesn’t exactly make the opposing defenses quiver.

Titans vs Texans NFL Week 12 Lines & Expert Pick

Titans Want Revenge

The Texans blew out the Titans in 2017 by a score of 57 – 14, but have since fallen to Tennessee twice. In December of last year, the Titans won 24 – 13 and again this September, they defeated the Texans by a score of 20 – 17.

Tennessee Needs More Offense

The Titans have struggled on offense, combining for the 30th ranked offense by yards produced to this point in the season. That’s out of 32 NFL teams people- not good! Their rushing game has been average at 15th in the league, but their passing game has really struggled. They rank 30th in the league in passing yards per game.

Their defense has been better, at no surprise since their head coach is one of the best defensive minds around. They currently rank 9th in the league in total defense. The Texans are led by another bill Belichick pupil, Bill O’Brien, who specializes in the other side of the ball. He has crafted an offense that has become the 13th best in football, thanks to an 11th best rushing attack and a 19th best passing game. The Texans defense, led by J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney stand at the 7th best in the league.

Houston Wants More Thomas

Demaryius Thomas still hasn’t made much of an impact for the Texans since joining the team. Perhaps he is the secret weapon this week against the Titans. Deshaun Watson has looked good for the team, but can he keep the momentum going? The Texans already have tied a franchise record for most consecutive wins.

Titans vs Texans is scheduled for Monday Night.

I’m interested to see if they can continue those winning ways after starting the season 0-3. For the Titans, it’s all about their star, Marcus Mariota. Can he play? We still aren’t quite sure. He continues to receive treatment for a singer which led to numbness in his neck, shoulder, and throwing arm. Either way, the Titans now know they must improve their interior pass protection to prevent this type of thing from happening again.

Titans vs Texans Predictions

We will take the Texans at home, but not to cover. We think this will end up being one of the best games this week. We will take a late Ka’imi Fairbairn field goal to win it for the Texans, 23-21.
