NFL Betting: Super Bowl 56 Odds Update After Preseason

Posted by Derrick Harper on August 30, 2021 in

Now that the preseason is over, and the start of the NFL regular season is just a few days away, it’s time to start looking at the teams that have the best shot of winning the Super Bowl. Although all 32 teams think that they have a great shot at making a playoff run, only 12 teams get the opportunity to play in the postseason. Let’s take a look at some of the early Super Bowl Betting favorites to make a playoff run and win Super Bowl 56 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Updated Super Bowl LIV Odds

Kansas City Chiefs +500

After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took it to them in Super Bowl 55, the  Kansas City Chiefs made some upgrades to their team. They made some key offensive line adjustments, and worked to shore up their defense through free agency and the draft.  Oh, and they still also have some guy named Mahomes. Kansas City’s offense should once again be one of the best in the league, and they should be in the thick of the playoff race. If they can avoid injuries to key players, they have a great shot at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +600

When a team wins the Super Bowl, they usually lose some of their key players to free agency, retirement, etc. Well in the case of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that wasn’t the case. The Bucs return all 22 starters from last year’s team. With a weakened NFC South, Tampa has a great shot at making the playoffs and making a long playoff run. If Tom Brady can continue to win the battle with Father Time, the Buccaneers will be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Buffalo Bills +1000

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills couldn’t get past the Chiefs last season, but this year could be a different story. Allen is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and with a loaded backfield, and Stefon Diggs out wide, the Bills should put up a lot of points. Defensively, the Bills have a very strong unit that can control some of the top offenses in the league. If Allen continues to play well, the Bills are Super Bowl contenders.

Green Bay Packers +1300

Now that all of the drama with Aaron Rodgers has been put on the back burner, the Packers are ready to make some noise in 2021. Rodgers will have a healthy Davante Adams at his disposal, along with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon in the backfield. Robert Tonyan comes off of a strong 2020 season as well. Rodgers knows that a coaching decision may have cost him a shot at the Super Bowl last season, so he will work as hard as he can to get back to the big game.

Baltimore Ravens +1400

Lamar Jackson is one of the most dynamic players in the league. If Jackson can become more accurate in the passing game, the Ravens could be even more dangerous. Starting running back JK Dobbins left their last preseason game with an injury, but if this is a long-term issue, Gus Edwards is a strong replacement. With the Ravens offense, and one of the best defenses in the league, the Ravens are ready for a postseason run.

Los Angeles Rams +1400

Sean McVay finally has the quarterback that he’s always wanted. After acquiring Matthew Stafford in the offseason, the Rams feel that he was the missing piece to a Super Bowl run. Stafford will have Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods as his primary receivers. He’ll have a committee in the backfield, but Stafford is a proven star.

We can’t fail to mention that the Rams should have one of the top defenses in the league. Led by Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, the Rams can wreak havoc for opposing quarterbacks.
