NFL Betting Lines: Cardinals to Win Super Bowl 50
When the NFL was entering Week 17, oddsmakers had the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots as the two favorites to win Super Bowl 50. However, that changed when the Seattle Seahawks went down to Arizona and routed the Cardinals, 36-6, in the last game of the season. Currently, the Seahawks, Panthers, Cardinals and Patriots are now all co-favorites, at 19/4. Should you let the Week 17 rout keep you from betting on the Cards? Here are some reasons why you should still bet on Arizona to be the last team standing at the end of Super Bowl 50.

One Week Isn’t a Season
The Seahawks fell in Week 16 to the St. Louis Rams, a loss that was a real upset. However, that hasn’t kept people from rabidly backing the Seahawks since Week 17. The Cardinals went into Week 17 with head coach Bruce Arians talking about how this was a game just like any other — and that the team would be as intense as normal. However, as Bruce Arians told the media in the postgame press conference, he saw the intensity dropping in practice all week. “You could just tell Wednesday that it wasn’t very good, the standard we’re used to. Thursday was even worse. Friday was pretty solid, so you think maybe we start to see that it wasn’t there. But then again, it didn’t happen today.” The Cardinals already had a first-round bye locked up, and so they were not nearly as intense going into the game as the Seahawks were. That won’t happen again in the playoffs.
Carson Palmer Will Benefit From the Rest
The Seattle Seahawks are a punishing team. They hit hard every play, all game long. So when the Cardinals took quarterback Carson Palmer out at halftime, letting Drew Stanton play the rest of the way. After the game, Arians indicated that the plan had been to sit Palmer at halftime all along. Even though that exposed the Cardinals to a whipping on the scoreboard, it ensured that Palmer would enter the divisional round of the playoffs healthy and rested.
The Cardinals Have Won the Big Games All Year Long
When the Seahawks and Cardinals met earlier in the year (in the game that could affect the standings) the Cardinals won. They routed the Packers at home, and they beat the Vikings as well. So they have wins against all of the other teams in the playoffs except for Carolina. Last year, the Panthers beat the Cardinals in the playoffs, but the Cardinals were down to a backup quarterback at that point and basically could not move the ball. So the Cardinals either have a victory or motivation to give them confidence in their playoff matchups this season.
NFL Betting Prediction
Arizona has shed the doubters all year long. Even though the Panthers would represent a tough NFC championship test, the Cardinals have the tools on both sides of the ball to roll to their first Super Bowl championship.
