Steelers Looking to Beat Arizona in Week 7 NFL Betting Battle
With a compelling 68 percent of public bettors going against the, veteran quarterback Mike Vick and the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for some ATS love as they get set for their Week 6 showdown against the one-loss Arizona Cardinals. Here’s a NFL betting preview and analysis on why the Steelers could be a good bet to bring home the bacon on Sunday.

Arizona Cardinals (4-1 SU, 4-1 ATS)
The Cardinals bounced back nicely from their Week 4 loss against St. Louis to pound the snot out of struggling Detroit 42-17 in Week 5 as veteran quarterback Carson Palmer completed 11 of 14 passes for 11 yards and three touchdowns. The veteran signal-caller is completing an impressive 64.9 percent of his passes on the season while veteran running back Chris Johnson continued his career resurgence by rushing for 103 yards on 11 carries.
After rushing for a career-low 663 yards with the New York Jets last season, Johnson has taken over as Arizona’s top back and has responded by rushing for 405 yards through five contests, including 296 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. Arizona is averaging a league-leading 38.0 points per game while ranking 10th in passing and third in rushing while also ranking fifth in points allowed (18.0 ppg).
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2 SU, 4-0-1 ATS)
While Mike Vick didn’t play particularly well for the majority of Pittsburgh’s thrilling 24-20 Week 5 win over San Diego, but the veteran came alive at just the right time to lead the Steelers to the late victory.
“You have to pick and choose your spots,” Vick told reporters about connecting with elite wide receiver Antonio Brown more often. “Not to say I don’t have confidence in myself or confidence in (Brown), it’s just kind of where we’re at in the game. But trust me, those plays are going to come.”
Brown was second in the NFL with 436 receiving yards through three weeks but has just 87 yards in the last two. Still, Vick completed 13 of 26 passes for 203 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the win.
“I think I showed I can still go out and get it done,” Vick told reporters. “Techniques are changing, defensive philosophies are changing, but I feel like I’ve shown I still can adjust.”
Second-year wideout Martavis Bryant is set to return to the field after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy and missing Monday’s game with a knee injury.
Game Analysis: I know the Arizona Cardinals have the look of a team seriously intent on living up to its full potential this season, but I think a lot of people are ‘sleeping’ on Mike Vick and the Steelers right now.
Having said that let me also say that I’m going against the vast majority of the betting public to back the Pittsburgh Steelers to cover the spread at home. I like the fact that the Steelers are generally a great wager at home and has gone 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine home dates. Pittsburgh is also 9-1 ATS in their last nine games a team with a winning record and a near-perfect 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a winning road record.
I know the Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 21-8 ATS in their last 29 games overall, but I like the Steelers to get the ATS win by recording the narrow home win.
My Pick: Pittsburgh 21 Arizona 20
