The Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC East this season with a record of 9-7 and will host the Seattle Seahawks at Lincoln Financial Field as both teams open Wild Card play. This should be a ground and pound affair as both teams rank in the top seven rushing attempts per game and will look to establish the run early and often. Let’s take a closer look at each team in order to try and figure out who will win this Seahawks vs Eagles game according to the latest NFL Odds.

Seahawks vs Eagles 2020 NFL Wild Card Odds & Expert Analysis

Why bet on the Seattle Seahawks?

Seattle was able to finish the season with an 11-5 record but dropped three of their last four games to end the regular season. The last time these two teams met was also in Philly and the Seahawks were able to get the win in a low scoring affair 17-9 in week 12 of this year.

The running backs for Seattle combined for almost 200 yards in that game but surely won’t have that level of success again as none of those players are even active for this sunday due to injury.

Instead it will be Marshawn Lynch, who is fresh out of retirement, and Travis Homer who is very inexperienced. They combined for 30 carries and only 94 yards in the loss to the 49ers which is a very underwhelming total for this Seahawks team.

The defense is led by Bobby Wagner and Jadeveon Clowney both of which are enjoying plenty of success this year. Wagner has had 159 tackles with three sacks and two interceptions this season and is again a pro bowler for the linebacker position. Clowney has been the disruptor in the running game while also racking up the swatted balls in the passing game.

The Seahawks are a superior road team as they have gone 7-1 this year away from home which is the best in the NFL. This game will be a great test for a team that wont see a home game the rest of the year if they continue to win.

Why Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?

Carson Wentz and the Eagles appear to be hitting their stride at the right time as they needed a four-game win streak in order to make the playoffs and they were able to beat up on those teams. Wentz has not thrown an interception over that span and has been solid all year with 27 touchdowns on only 7 INTs.

This is all while only having the starting receivers play 10 games so the Tight Ends have been the focal point of the passing game. Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert are the leading receivers in terms of both yards and touchdowns.

Miles Sanders has looked awesome and only got better as the season went along but is questionable in this game with an ankle injury. The Secondary is the Achilles heel of this team. The Corners have missed several games a piece but have recently gotten healthy and it will be crucial for them to show that health was the reason for the poor play.

Seahawks vs Eagles Expert Final Prediction

Seattle is the minus-2 point favorites despite being the road team in the Wild Card round. The over under for this game is set at 45.5 for this game according to MyBookie. Philadelphia Eagles are getting two free points in this game for a team who has gotten healthy, won four straight games, is playing at home and has a coach who knows how to navigate the playoffs.

Russell Wilson is a phenomenal player but injuries to the running backs will cause him to become one dimensional and leave him with a monumental task. Take the Philadelphia Eagles to cover the spread and win the game against a banged up Seahawks squad.
