NFL Betting Game Preview: San Diego at Kansas City

Posted by Aaron . on December 11, 2015 in

It’s hard to imagine two teams going in more different directions than the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Diego Chargers going into this weekend’s AFC West NFL betting tilt. The Chiefs have won six in a row, both against the spread and straight up, while the Chargers have lost seven of their last eight straight up. The Chiefs are favored to win at home by 7.5 points, and the over-under total is 46.5.

Reasons to think about the Chargers:

San Diego has played two strong games in a row, winning at Jacksonville two weeks ago and then losing a close one to Denver last week. The Broncos were up 17-0 in the second period, but then the Chargers kept them off the board the rest of the way. The problem was that the Chargers could only muster three points of their own, losing 17-3. During the entire game, the Chargers only crossed the 50-yard line four times. They only gained 272 yards for the day, but their defense only permitted one offensive touchdown and held the Broncos to 293 yards. If both the offense and defense could click for San Diego during the same game, they would likely see their win total shoot up.

Reasons to take the Chiefs to win — and cover:

Chiefs-vs-Raiders-NFL-Betting-compressorAfter beating Oakland 34-20 last week, the Chiefs are the AFC’s hottest team. The Chiefs were down at halftime 14-7, but they took the opening kickoff in the second half and drove 80 yards to tie the game. Then the defense chipped in, harassing Raiders quarterback Derek Carr into throwing a pick to set up another touchdown. Another interception gave the Chiefs a 27-20 lead, and then yet ANOTHER pick turned into a touchdown on the return. The Chiefs are now 7-5 but are also in a three-way tie with Pittsburgh and the Jets for the first wild card position.

Our NFL Betting Final Game Prediction

Kansas City has always been a tough place to play, even when the Chiefs aren’t very good. They are white-hot right now, and the Chargers are in a deep funk. Take the Chiefs to win and cover in this one.
