San Diego at Gonzaga Betting Lines, Prediction & TV Info

The San Diego Toreros (10-10) head up the Pacific coast to take on #3 Gonzaga (20-0) in West Coast Conference hoops action on Thursday night. Gonzaga is the only remaining undefeated Division I basketball program in the nation, mostly recently completing a home-and- home sweep of Portland, winning 83-64 on Monday night. San Diego saw their two-game winning streak end with a 60-43 home loss against the Dons of San Francisco. Don’t forget to take a look at our NCAA basketball odds and picks for all the week’s action.

Why should you bet on the Toreros?

Yes, San Diego has beaten BYU in conference play this year, but they fell hard to earth against San Francisco on Saturday. Brett Bailey led the Toreros with 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds, but the big story of the night was second chance points for San Francisco, who won the rebound battle 40-28, and ice-cold shooting from San Diego (31.4 percent shooting, including 1 for 17 from behind the arc). Taking the Toreros in this game, even with a 10- or 12-point cushion, is a hard bet to recommend, given that this game is on the road and Gonzaga is making a case to move up to the top slot in the national rankings.

Why should you put your money on the Bulldogs?

The 20-game streak that the Bulldogs have run off is the fourth longest in the history of the program. One of the most impressive qualities of this team is the offensive balance. Zach Collins put up 13 points in Monday’s win over Portland, and Silas Melson put up a dozen apiece, as Gonzaga roared out to a lead as big as 33 early in the second half. However, Portland won the rebounding battle, 41-33, and Gonzaga only shot 45 percent from the floor. If Gonzaga comes out cold, San Diego could get out to an early run, but I just see Gonzaga as too fast on offense and too quick on defense for the Toreros to hold any sort of lead.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Gonzaga to pick up an emphatic 21st win in this game, trouncing San Diego, 88-72.
