What better place for Monday Night Football than in New Orleans? The Who Dat Nation will be shaking the Superdome as the 3-1 Saints welcome the 2-1 Washington Redskins to the Big Easy. New Orleans is at home and favored by 6.5 points over the Redskins. Let’s check which team is offering a better value for Redskins vs Saints on Monday Night.

Redskins vs Saints NFL Week 5 Odds & Pick for Monday Night

New Orleans is an Offensive Squad

The Saints are looking for Monday to be a special night. Drew Brees is only 201 yards away from breaking the NFL’s all-time passing yardage record currently held by Peyton Manning. Brees has stated that he wants to set the record in front of his home fans, so what better way to do it than Monday night at the Superdome?

The Saints offense has been dynamic this season. Alvin Kamara is proving that his rookie season was no fluke. The dual-threat running back is averaging 152 yards per game from scrimmage with 6 touchdowns. Michael Thomas is becoming an elite receiver averaging 110 yards receiving per game with 3 touchdowns.

Defensively, the Saints are struggling. They’re allowing 390 yards per game. Their passing defense has been giving up over 300 yards per game. New Orleans is giving up 30 points per game, so Brees and company will need to be ready to put some points on the board.

Washington Surprise Start

As for the Redskins offense, they’re led by the consistent Alex Smith. Look for the Redskins to utilize the short passing game to control the clock and keep the Saints offense off the field. Smith will look to utilize Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson coming out of the backfield to keep the chains moving. Also, look for Adrian Peterson to be motivated to have a big game against the team that signed him, gave him very little playing time, and then released him last season.

Redskins vs Saints will be the last game of NFL Week 5.

The Redskins defense has been a stellar unit this season. They’re allowing 14 points per game, and are giving up less than 280 yards per game. The Washington secondary will be challenged, as New Orleans will look to move the ball downfield quickly.

Pick and Prediction

The Saints always play well at home in front of their ruckus crowd. Monday Night Football always brings out the best in people, and with Drew Brees trying to set the passing yardage record, look for the Saints to be fired up.

Will they have enough to outlast the tough Washington defense, and will the Saints defense be able to stop the Redskins from killing the clock? Monday night in the Superdome will be a show! Our money is on the New Orleans Saints by a touchdown or more!
