When you think of Thanksgiving, you think of turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and Dallas Cowboys football. As is the Thanksgiving tradition, the Dallas Cowboys will host the afternoon game on Thanksgiving, as the Washington Redskins come to town for the holiday showdown. Redskins vs Cowboys will have a little more on the line, as Dallas sits one game behind Washington for the NFC East lead. After starting the season 3-5, Dallas has won their last two games, defeating the favored Eagles and Falcons, which is why they come in as the NFL Betting favorites. Dallas has seemingly gotten back to doing what they do best: running the football.

Redskins vs Cowboys NFL Week 12 Odds & Expert Pick

Fede Zeke

Scott Linehan and Jason Garrett have made a concerted effort to feed Ezekiel Elliott the ball. Against Atlanta, Zeke rushed for 122 yards with a touchdown. He also had 7 receptions for 79 yards. In their win over the Eagles, he rushed for 151 yards with a TD. He also caught a touchdown pass as well.

When giving credit where credit is due, let’s talk about the Dallas Defense. They’re not flashy, but they’ve been getting the job done. Led by linebackers Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith, the Cowboys defense has been solid. They’re 7th in the league in total yards allowed, and 8th in rushing and passing yards allowed. The Cowboys are 3rd in points allowed.

With their ball control offense and a stout defense, Dallas is playing playoff-caliber football right now.

Redskins Need to Rebound

While Dallas is headed in one direction, Washington is headed in the opposite direction. The Redskins have lost 2 of their last 3 games. However, their biggest loss was the loss of quarterback Alex Smith for the rest of the season after he broke his leg against the Texans.

Redskins vs Cowboys is one of the best NFL Week 12 Games.

Enter Longhorn legend, Colt McCoy. Although McCoy played well against the Texans, he’s not up to the caliber of Alex Smith. McCoy will now lead the 25th rated passing offense against a tough Cowboy secondary. Washington will be looking for a big game from Adrian Peterson and will look to utilize tight end Jordan Reed to keep the chains moving and keep the Dallas offense on the sideline.

Cowboys Take Down Redskins

It’ll be strength vs. strength on Thursday, as Washington’s 5th rated rushing defense will try to control Elliott. Dak Prescott is averaging 194 passing yards per game, so if Washington can stop the Cowboys rushing attack, that’ll be a good sign for the Skins. Even though Prescott has been better as of late due to the addition of Amari Cooper, the Cowboys passing game still isn’t where they’d like it to be.

The Cowboys and the Redskins rivalry is one of the best in the NFL. With first place in the division riding on this game, the stakes are high. Will Colt McCoy become the hero and lead the Redskins to victory, or will the Cowboys keep their rushing attack going and take first place from the Redskins? After a big Thanksgiving lunch, have a seat on the couch and watch this NFC East battle for the division lead. Dallas wins this game at home.
