Why should you pick the Rams (+13.5)?
The Rams (6-8) did right the ship a bit last week, rolling over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-23. Case Keenum went 14 for 17 for 234 yards and two scores. Todd Gurley carried the ball 21 times for 48 yards and a score. The Seahawks have a more fearsome defense than that of Tampa Bay, but 13.5 points is an immense line, given the rivalry that these two teams have developed in recent years. The Rams are playing more competitively than that sort of line indicates.
Why should you take Seattle (-13.5)?
The Seahawks beat the lowly Cleveland Browns last week, 30-13, as Russell Wilson went 21 for 30 for 249 yards and three scores, while rushing for 46 more yards. Christine Michael carried the ball 16 times for 84 yards as the Seahawks have had an injury bug take out their top two running backs. Seattle is playing for a wild card position and will enter this game with a lot of motivation. They are likely still smarting from their shocking loss to St. Louis last year, from their Super Bowl loss, from their inconsistent start to the season, from any other motivational ideas that Pete Carroll can throw their way. This team has a constant chip on its shoulder and could roll right over the Rams.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I’m confident about a Seattle victory. However, I’m not confident that they will win by two touchdowns. I am picking them to win 30-20 — which means I like the Rams to cover.
