Rams at Saints NFC Championship Lines & Prediction

Rams at Saints, two teams with similar approaches to how they take care of business. Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram will do their best to outproduce Todd Gurley in this battle of two of the best rushing teams in all of football. Drew Brees is a crafty, yet youthful veteran out there and is able to adjust to difficult defensive alignments as almost no other quarterback can. The other thing that makes these two teams so incredibly fun to watch is that they both can be so potent with their base package of players. In a standard two running back set, the Saints can run plenty of homerun plays or establish the run with either of their backs, each capable of breaking plenty of tackles.

The Rams, NFL Betting underdogs, well they line up in a three-wide set more often than not. They have an incredible back in Gurley, sure, but they also have three outstanding wide receivers in Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, and Cooper Kupp. Spreading the ball on intermediate routes and play action is where the Rams like to draw blood, especially after punishing the defense with a healthy dose of runs from Todd Gurley. If you haven’t noticed, I’m excited to see these two premier teams square off again!

Rams at Saints NFC Championship Lines & Prediction

Rams at Saints Odds

Currently, the line is set at 3 points in favor of the Saints. I’ll take the Saints to win by more than the three points Vegas is giving the Rams.

Rams at Saints Head to Head

The Saints were responsible for the Rams’ first loss this season. That came back in November when they defeated Los Angeles in New Orleans by a score of 45 – 35. Before that, in the preseason, the Saints blanked the Rams by a score of 28 – 0. Last season, though, the Rams got the best of the Saints in late November by a score of 26 – 20.

Rams at Saints Stats

The Rams have the second best offense in the NFL, behind only the Chiefs at this point. Jared Goff and his receiving corp have produced the fifth-most yardage in the league. Much of that passing attack’s production comes from play action set up by effective rushing, which ranks third in the league. On defense, however, the team has not lived up to the high expectations. Granted, they see more possessions due to their offense’s success rate.

Rams at Saints should be an offensive festival.

Currently, the Rams have the 19th best defense in the league, falling just below average. The Saints, likewise, have the 8th best overall offense in the NFL, led by the sixth-best rushing game in the league and the 12th best passing attack. Their defense currently ranks just north of average, at 14th best.

Rams at Saints Prediction

Drew Brees is sure something on the field. He is truly like another coach out there. I think he is the closest thing we currently have to Peyton Manning as far as a field general in today’s NFL. Combine that with Sean Payton and you get an electrifying, yet comfortable duo capable of hanging 20 or more on anyone they see.

I’m riding with the proven commodities. I’ll take the Saints to get to the Superbowl for the second time in this dynamic pair’s career together. I think, in a battle of two of the best offensive minds in the league, Sean Payton will once again show that with experience, he is still the gold standard for offense and win by a score of 27 – 23.
