The NFC championship game will see the winners of the West and the North playing for a chance to go to the super bowl. The San Francisco 49ers will play host to the Green Bay Packers in a battle of teams who are 14-3 on the season. These two have met once this year previously when the Packers got throttled against the 49ers in a 37-8 final score. Green Bay will have a chance at redemption but will have their hands full against a talented San Francisco team. Let’s take a look while making some NFL Betting predictions.

Packers vs 49ers 2020 NFC Championship Game Odds, Preview & Pick

Why Bet on the Green Bay Packers?

The Packers have turned themselves into a contender again under first year head coach Matt Lafleur. This is the first appearance in the Championship game since 2016 and that is due in large part to the defense becoming one of the top units in the league. Since facing the 49ers and surrendering 37 points Green Bay has only allowed 15.7 points to their last six opponents.

They held the Seahawks to just 33 percent on third down conversions in what has been a strength for this team all season. Za’darius Smith and Preston Smith both coming off the edge they were able to wrap up Russell Wilson five times which proved to be a big edge in the Packers win.

Davante Adams was Aaron Rodgers favorite target in the passing game in their previous game as he had eight receptions for 160 yards. He will need to continue to beat his defender as Jimmy Graham was the only other receiver to catch more than one pass for the Packers. Rodgers is trying to make one more push for the super bowl in his career and will face his toughest test yet and the 49ers have a far superior defense compared to Seattle.

Why bet on the San Francisco 49ers?

San Francisco will play host in this game as a result of earning the top seed in the NFC during the regular season. Home field is a major advantage for them as they are 7-2 this season at Levi’s Stadium. The defense will continue to tell the story for the 49ers this season as they are loaded on the line.

They were able to sack the Vikings six times and held them to just over two yards a carry in a dominant effort. Nick Bosa is a premier pass rusher in just his rookie season and will be a player to watch for. Richard Sherman will draw a tough assignment against Davante Adams but has shown that he can still make plays as he held Diggs to only two catches last week.

Jimmy Garapollo has played well enough for the 49ers to stay in games as he only had 11 completions for 131 yards a touchdown and an interception in his first playoff game. He had the running game to lean on as their stable of backs had 186 yards on almost four yards a carry and converted two touchdowns. Getting the running attack going again will be crucial for the 49ers to win this game and keep the pressure off of Garoppolo.

Packers vs 49ers 2020 NFC Championship Game Betting Pick

This should be a great game between two outstanding defenses but look for the 49ers to win this game and advance to the super bowl. Their defense will get after Aaron Rodgers and cause havoc. Look for them to create several turnovers on their way to a comfortable win.
