NFC West Mock Draft
In order to win the NFC West in 2020, you’ll have to run the gauntlet. Between the Rams, Seahawks, 49ers, and Cardinals, this is a very balanced division. The 49ers should be the cream of the crop, but Seattle is always tough, and the Rams are looking to rebound from a poor 2019. The Cardinals acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins brings a powerful weapon for Kyler Murray. Let’s take a look at how the NFC West will attack the 2020 NFL Draft.
NFC West Mock Draft
San Francisco 49ers
The Niners currently hold two first round picks. They acquired the 13th pick in the draft from the Colts in the DeForest Buckner trade. The 49ers also have their own first round pick which is the 31st pick. It’s been rumored that San Francisco is shopping both picks. If they keep both of their picks, they could take a wide receiver with the 13th pick. With Emmanual Sanders leaving via free agency, the Niners have a need at the receiver spot. Kyle Shanahan loves good receivers. We see San Francisco taking CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma.
The Seahawks are notorious for trading out of the first round. With the 27th pick in the draft, they could hold true to form and trade down. We’re going out on a limb to say that the Seahawks will keep the pick. They have needs on the defensive and offensive lines, and could use some help in the defensive secondary.
We think that they’ll be looking to draft a pass rusher. With the loss of Jadeveon Clowney, the Seahawks sorely need an edge rusher. The bigger names will be gone, but A.J. Epenesa from the University of Iowa still should be there, and he would be a great fit for the Seahawks.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams didn’t make the playoffs in 2019, and are looking to get back to the postseason in 2020. The Rams don’t have a first round pick this year, as they traded it last season to Jacksonville to acquire Jalen Ramsey. The Rams won’t pick until #52.
They have numerous needs. They had a lot of defensive players leave this past offseason, so they could take any number of defensive players. They also could look to replace Todd Gurley with this pick as well. We see the Rams taking Julian Okwara from Notre Dame. He is a very versatile defensive lineman, and could be used in numerous spots.
The Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray with the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Kliff Kingsbury is an offensive head coach, and he wants to do all that he can to build around Murray. Arizona was fortunate enough to swing a trade for DeAndre Hopkins, so Murray will have another weapon in his arsenal.
The Arizona offensive line struggled to protect Murray last season. They have the eighth pick this year, and they should be able to take a high profile offensive lineman. Look for the Cardinals to take Tristan Wirfs out of Iowa. He will be an anchor on the offensive line, and will help to keep Murray clean in the pocket.
