Kansas City at Indianapolis Week 8 Betting Pick & Prediction

Posted by Peter Boysen on October 27, 2016 in

The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Indianapolis Colts in a key AFC matchup this Sunday. Both teams have shown flaws up to this point in the season, but the Colts have more people in the infirmary than the Chiefs do. The Chiefs have the Raiders and Broncos turning up the heat on them in the AFC West, but they show signs of working their way steadily through the schedule. Check out all of our NFL odds for the coming weekend.

Kansas City at Indianapolis Week 8 Betting Pick & Prediction

When: Sunday, October 30, 1:00 PM
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana
Radio: Kansas City / Indianapolis
Stream Option: NFL Live
NFL Odds: Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5), O/U 50

Why should you bet on the Chiefs?

Kansas City takes a plodding approach to their offense, using quarterback Alex Smith to guide the squad, using short to medium length throws and a reliance on the running game. While Jamaal Charles rides the cautious road to recovery, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West continue to get the bulk of the carries. If the Chiefs struggle against the Colts, expect Charles to get more action. If you bet on the Chiefs, you like them to eat up the clock with drive after sustained drive and use their defense to keep Andrew Luck & Co. under control.

Why should you put your money on the Colts?

The Colts had seven starters injured last week, but they still managed to put together a win over the Tennessee Titans. Given that the Chiefs are also missing linebacker Justin Houston, the Colts should find ways to move the ball up and down the field. Indianapolis is 4-1 ATS in their last five tilts with the Chiefs, and they have beaten the spread in three of their last five overall games and 27 of their last 39 home contests. If you bet on the Colts, you like Luck’s game-changing abilities to run up points faster than the Chiefs can score them.

My Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Chiefs to roll into Lucas Oil Stadium and impose their ball-security philosophy on the game, chewing up plenty of clock. I predict a final score of Kansas City 24, Indianapolis 20.
