Jets vs Ravens NFL Week 15 Odds, Preview & Expert Prediction

Posted by Derrick Harper on December 12, 2019 in

Thursday Night Football is back for the final time this season and brings a pretty interesting matchup with it. The New York Jets will travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. Both of these teams come into this game playing their best football to date but are going in different directions. The Jets are 5-8 this season but have won four of their last five games coming into this contest.

They will have their hands full as they try to upset the class of the AFC in the Ravens. They have won nine straight and have already secured a playoff spot, but with a win could lock up the Division title and further strengthen their bid for home field advantage through the playoffs. Which is something the Ravens have never been able to accomplish in franchise history. Let’s take a look at the latest NFL Odds while making some predictions.

Jets vs Ravens NFL Week 15 Odds, Preview & Expert Prediction

Why bet on the Jets?

The Jets may look like they are starting to figure things out but when you look closer at their wins since November they have beaten down on some of the worst teams in the league. Their wins over that time include Giants, Redskins, Raiders, and the Bengals. Despite these victories the Jets are only scoring a touch over 17 points per game which is not indicative of a good team.

Sam Darnold has seen a rollercoaster sophomore season in which he has won five of his ten games he played in this year. The problem lies in the fact that he has thrown 11 interceptions this year to go along with six fumbles. If he can protect the football then he usually gives the Jets a chance to win.

The Defense has had its moments as well but lacks consistency overall. CJ Mosley was the big offseason acquisition for the D but he has missed most of the year with an injury and will not play in his potential return back to Baltimore. Jamaal Adams is the captain of the defense and will have a big task ahead of him in this game trying to stop one of the top scoring offenses in the league. His ability to step up in the box will be crucial in stopping Lamar Jackson in the run game.

Why bet on the Ravens?

Lamar Jackson is now the heavy betting favorite for the MVP award and it is due in large part because of how well he has the Ravens playing. They had a slight two-game slide in their first month of the season and have yet to lose since. Recently though they have only won by 10 points over their last two games despite playing their two toughest games of the year.

This team plays well in all phases of the game and has an excellent coach. The offense gets all the attention but the Defense is what has won them their recent games. The pass rush looked great and Marcus Peters erased several big plays down field. You will be hard pressed to find a weakness on this team.

Jets vs Ravens Betting Prediction

Mybookie has the Ravens favored by 15.5 points which is a lot coming off a short week and the two toughest games of the season for Baltimore. Straight up this game is a no brainer that they should win this game. I just don’t trust the Jets enough to play a close game against the best team in the AFC. The Ravens will win this game by a big margin.
