Jets vs Bills NFL Betting Odds Overview
Week 17 features the New York Jets heading west to take on the Buffalo Bills in Ralph Wilson Stadium this Sunday at 1:00pm Eastern time. The Jets just upset the New England Patriots at home last week, while the Buffalo Bills managed to eke out a victory over the visiting Dallas Cowboys. The Jets can solidify their playoff standing with a win, while the Bills are already out of the playoffs. However, Bills coach Rex Ryan would love to foil the playoff hopes of the team that fired him at the end of last season. As for NFL betting odds, the Jets are favored by 1.5 points, and the over/under total for this game is 43 points.

Why should you choose the Jets (-1.5)?
The Jets are slightly more reliable against the spread this year than the Bills are (8-5-2 as opposed to 7-7-1 for the Bills). Last week, Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick did a terrific job, hurling three touchdown passes and picking up 296 yards through the air. The Jets have the #6 defense against the run, only permitting 88 yards per game on the ground when they are the road team. They also have the motivation to take a wild card position if they can win in Buffalo. Frankly, Rex Ryan’s posturing tends to do more harm to his team’s psyche than good, so the more you hear Ryan talking in the media this week, the more money you should put on the Jets.
Why should you bet on Buffalo (+1.5)?
The Bills are the #1 team in the NFL when it comes to rushing yards at home. They have the #12 offense in the NFL, averaging 23.8 points per game. The Bills did grind out a tough win at home against Dallas last week, facing a Cowboy defense that was sending a fearsome pass rush at Tyrod Taylor. Taylor remained poised and either found open receivers downfield or waited for Cowboys to overcommit past his rushing lanes and then take off for a huge gain. Taylor’s ability to wait out the rush and take off makes him a weapon that the Jets did not see last week in Tom Brady.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
The Jets have shown themselves to be a clutch team this season when the chips are down. I like them to take care of business in Buffalo and emerge with one of the AFC wild cards. My final score prediction is Jets 20, Bills 17.
