Jacksonville at Buffalo Week 13 Betting Pick & Lines

Posted by Peter Boysen on November 25, 2016 in

The Buffalo Bills (5-5) need a win to stay in contention for the wild card at this point, as far behind the New England Patriots as they are in the AFC East. They host the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) on Sunday. Jacksonville gave up a fourth-quarter lead to lose in Detroit, 26-19, last week, while the Bills pulled out a tough 16-12 win in Cincinnati a week ago. When the two teams met in 2015, Jacksonville edged the Bills, 34-31. Check out all of our NFL odds for this weekend’s games.

Why should you bet on the Jaguars?

The Jacksonville Jaguars hung with the talented offense of the Detroit Lions until the fourth period, despite taking their fifth straight loss. Quarterback Blake Bortles did throw a pair of touchdown passes — but he also had a pair of picks, which gives him four in the last three contests. Chris Ivory gave the team another bright spot with 114 all-purpose yards, although wideouts Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson contributed little to the effort, combining for just 70 receiving yards. If Bortles can find his receivers down the field early and stretch the Bills’ defense, that should open up some running room for Ivory.

Why should you put your money on the Bills?

The most impressive part of the Bills’ win in Cincinnati was that they took away the victory despite a fairly unimpressive outing from quarterback Tyrod Taylor. He only gained 166 yards through the air and had an interception — although he did run for 39 yards. Tailback LeSean McCoy had to leave with a thumb injury and was not available after halftime. The Bills expect him to be ready for the Jacksonville game, but a thumb injury can lead to fumbles at the wrong time. Wideout Robert Woods (knee) is not expected to play, but the Bills do have Marquise Goodwin to fill that spot. The key for Buffalo came on defense, as Stephon Gilmore picked off two Andy Dalton passes in the win.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the talent that Blake Bortles brings to the field, but I don’t see him leading the Jags past Buffalo on the road. I predict a final score of Buffalo 27, Jacksonville 13.
