NFL Betting Preview: Indianapolis at Jacksonville

Posted by Aaron . on December 11, 2015 in

The Indianapolis Colts (6-6) have beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8) six consecutive times and they look to make that seven when they travel to Jacksonville for this Sunday’s AFC South NFL betting match up. During this six-game winning streak, the Colts have gone 5-1 against the spread. The Jaguars have lost 22 of their last 30 home games. Indianapolis is a 1.5-point favorite in this game.

Here’s Why You Should Bet On The Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have won 16 consecutive AFC South games, going 13-2-1 against the spread in those games. Even when Matt Hasselbeck started for the Colts in Week 4, the Colts took a 16-13 overtime result against the Jags at home. Hasselbeck has gone 4-1 straight up and 3-2 against the spread during his five contests as the starting quarterback. The Colts’ defense has also stood strong against the Jaguars, holding them at or below 17 points throughout the entire streak, keeping them at an average below 10 points.

Since the Jags lost to the Colts in Week 4, they have averaged about 27 points per game. They are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games since they lost to Houston in Week 6. Jacksonville’s last three losses have all been by six points or fewer. They could be the spoiler as the Colts try to keep pace with the Houston Texans in an extremely mediocre AFC South.

Colts vs Jaguars Betting Predictions

Even though the Jags are at home this week, I like Hasselbeck to stay on his even keel and lead the Colts to another win. I think the Colts’ defense will assert themselves against a familiar foe and win straight up — and cover.
