Green Bay at Atlanta NFC Championship Betting Odds, Prediction & TV Info

The NFL’s divisional round of the playoffs came to an end on Sunday. On the NFC side of the bracket, the Atlanta Falcons had already dispatched the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, and then on Sunday, Green Bay came into Dallas and took advantage of some major defensive lapses to jump out to a 21-3 lead. Even though the Cowboys came storming back to tie the game at 28 and then again at 31, the inability of the Cowboys to play basic defense at key junctures allowed the Packers to escape with a 34-31 win to fill out the other side of the NFC championship. Let’s take a look at this matchup and all of our NFL odds for the conference championships.

Green Bay at Atlanta NFC Championship Betting Odds, Prediction & TV Info

TV: Fox
Radio: Green Bay / Atlanta
Stream Option: NFL Live
NFL Odds: Atlanta Falcons -4

Why should you bet on the Packers?

Since November 20, Aaron Rodgers has thrown 24 touchdown passes and just a single interception — and that came against Dallas. A second interception against Dallas came back on a pass interference call. During this winning streak that now totals eight games, Green Bay has just a pair of turnovers. Rodgers can operate behind an offensive line that is much healthier than the one that fell apart in Arizona in last year’s divisional round, and despite the possible absence of Jordy Nelson (ribs), he showed against Dallas that if you can’t formulate a decent pass rush, he will slice and dice your secondary over and over again. Atlanta does not emphasize defense either, so Rodgers could have another real heyday.

Why should you put your money on the Falcons?

Atlanta also preaches ball security — they had just 11 giveaways during the regular season, tied for best in the NFL. In their last five games, they have just a single takeaway. At home, they averaged 35.1 points per game, and when the two teams met in Week 8, Ryan threw for 288 yards and three scores, posting a rating of 129.5. Safety Morgan Burnett went down for the Packers against Dallas, giving Green Bay even fewer weapons on the field than what they had in the divisional round. As you saw against Seattle, Ryan is locked in right now and has plenty of targets down the field.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

Two teams come in on major hot streaks. However, if you saw the second half of the Green Bay-Dallas game, you saw that a focused offense can gain on the Packers, and that it is possible to get stops on Aaron Rodgers if you find creative ways to bring pressure. I like Atlanta to hold serve at home and win, 37-31.
