Just when you think that the Patriots can’t get any better, Bill Belichick goes and outdoes himself. Off to a 5-0 start to the season, the Patriots are making history as they are just the third team in the history of the NFL to average over 30 points per game, while allowing seven points or fewer per game in the first five games of the season. The NFL betting favorites Patriots are on a roll, and it doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon.

Giants vs Patriots 2019 NFL Week 6 Odds & Expert Pick

New England Elite Once Again

The Patriots will look to stay undefeated, as they welcome the 2-3 New York Giants to Foxboro to start the NFL’s Week 6 schedule on Thursday night. There is quite the history between these two franchises. New England leads the all-time series 6-4, but the Giants have the two largest victories in the series, as they have defeated the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl.

One of those Super Bowl victories ended the Patriots quest for a perfect season. The Giants looked like things were going south quickly, but then Daniel Jones happened. The rookie first round pick replaced Eli Manning and lit a fire under the Giants.

Coming into last week’s game against the Vikings, the Giants had won two in a row. However, the Vikings put an end to the streak, beating the Giants at MetLife Stadium, 25-10. The Patriots, who are averaging 31 points per game, are coming off of a 33-7 victory over the Washington Redskins. After giving up a long touchdown on Washington’s opening possession, and trailing for the first time all season, the Patriots put up 33 straight points en route to an easy victory.

The Patriots ran up 442 yards of total offense, while only giving up 220. The dominant Pats defense had six sacks. Speaking of the Patriots defense, here’s what Daniel Jones has to look forward to on Thursday night. The Patriots have 11 interceptions and 24 sacks on the season. The defense has only given up 20 points, two touchdowns and 2 field goals.

The New England defense has scored two touchdowns of their own. Right now, they are putting up better defensive numbers than the 1985 Bears and the 2000 Ravens, two defenses that are considered to be two of the best defenses ever.

Rookie Quarterback in Giants vs Patriots

Some good news for Daniel Jones is that he could have star running back Saquon Barkley back in the lineup for Giants vs Patriots.

In the second half of the Giants week 3 victory over Tampa Bay, Barkley left the game with a high ankle sprain. Barkley’s injury rehabilitation has progressed well, and there’s a chance that he could be back for Thursday night’s game. The Giants could really use Barkley, as his replacement, Wayne Gallman, left last Sunday’s game with a concussion.

Bill Belichick has a history of making life miserable for rookie quarterbacks. Factor that in with the fact that the Patriots are on a roll, even without Tom Brady playing great football, and things could be bad for the New York Giants on Thursday. The Patriots love to play in prime time games, and they’ll look to make another victim out of the Giants.
