Giants vs Dolphins NFL Monday Night Preview (12/14/15)

Posted by Aaron . on December 14, 2015 in

The New York Giants head to Miami for a big Monday Night Football tilt with the Dolphins. Both of these teams are sitting at 5-7, which would normally mean that they are both thinking about next year. However, the Giants are right in the middle of the race to lead the NFC East division and need to take this win in order to keep pace with the Redskins and Eagles, who both won on Sunday.

Betting on the Giants

Eli Manning is having a fairly solid season for the Giants so far, completing 62.3 percent of his passes for 3,318 yards and 24 scores with just 10 picks. In the last three games, Manning has thrown five touchdown passes. Rueben Randle and the electrifying Odell Bekcham Jr. have combined to gain 1,687 receiving yards. The Giants only average about 88.1 yards per game on the ground, which is a bit of a concern. Their leading running back, Rashad Jennings, only has 431 yards so far. On defense, the Giants have been particularly porous, permitting 25 points per game and 423 yards.

Betting on the Dolphins

If Miami wins, they will remain on the edges of the AFC wild card race. Ryan Tannehill has completed 61.4 percent of his passes for 3,077 yards, 21 scores and 11 picks. In the last three weeks, Tannehill has thrown six touchdown passes. The Dolphins average 96 yards per game on the ground, led by tailback Lamar Miller, who has picked up 680 yards. The Dolphins also allow 25 points per game, as well as 390 yards.

The Dolphins will face New York.

New York at Miami Game Analysis and Betting Trends

In their last six Monday Night games, the Giants are 1-5 against the spread. The Dolphins are 0-6 against the spread in their last six Monday Night games, so something has to give. This is a pick’em spread. However, the Giants have been an awful road team, with four losses in their last five games away from home. The Dolphins have only played four home games so far this season, so look for them to build some momentum in prime time. Miami has the better defense. I’d like the Dolphins to win this one and move to 6-7.
