Dallas at NY Giants Week 14 Betting Pick & Lines

Written by on December 9, 2016

The Dallas Cowboys (11-1) take their 11-game winning streak up to the East Coast for a divisional showdown with the New York Giants (8-4). Dallas barely survived a subpar performance last Thursday to beat Minnesota on the road, 17-15. The Giants had a winning streak stopped in Pittsburgh last week, 24-14. The Giants are the only team that has beaten Dallas this year, taking a 20-19 victory in the first week of the season. Can the Cowboys get revenge and take a stranglehold on the NFC East? Take a look at all of our NFL lines for this weekend’s games.

Dallas at NY Giants Week 14 Betting Pick & Lines

When: Sunday, December 11, 2016, 8:30pm ET Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ TV: NBC Radio: Dallas / New York Live Stream: NFL Live NFL Odds: Dallas (-3), O/U 47.5

Why should you bet on the Cowboys?

Dallas has shown real resolve in the fourth quarter game after game this season, and last week was no different. They entered the last frame with just seven points on the board but then scored 10 in the fourth, taking advantage of a key fumble on a punt. Dak Prescott did not do much against the Vikings, going just 12 for 18 for 139 yards and a score, but he did not throw an interception — he still just has two for the season. Ezekiel Elliott had 20 carries for 86 yards, but he had a 42-yard run called back for a holding penalty, in just one of many miscues that hamstrung the Dallas offense. The Cowboys did just enough late against a tough Viking defense — a unit that is much harder to score on than the Giants’ defense. Dallas’ offense performs much more efficiently now than they did when the Giants played Dallas in Week 1 — which was also Dak Prescott’s NFL debut.

Why should you put your money on the Giants?

The Giants did see their six-game winning streak come to an end, but you can really hang the 24-14 road loss on the shoulders of Eli Manning, who threw two interceptions in the red zone. He has been held below 260 yards in his last six games and has 12 picks on the season. Odell Beckham Jr. did catch 10 passes in the game, as the Giants moved the ball well, just committing errors when they neared the end zone. Dallas has some holes in their secondary as well, and their pass rush is well below average, so the Giants should have opportunities to throw the ball down the field. But can the Giants’ defense stop the Dallas offense?

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the energy that Eli Manning has with Odell Beckham, Jr. but the Giants don’t have Shane Vereen to pound the ball through the middle, a weapon that really helped them in Week 1. I also see the Dallas offense as much better than they were in Prescott’s debut. I predict a final score of Dallas 30, New York 24.
