The Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be electric on Sunday Night, as the 2-1 New Orleans Saints host the undefeated Dallas Cowboys on the Sunday Night Game of the Week on NBC. New Orleans has one of the best home crowds in the NFL. They take pride in making enough noise to disrupt the visiting team. Even without Drew Brees, the Saints and their fans will be ready for the NFL Betting favorites Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys vs Saints 2019 NFL Week 4 Odds & Expert Prediction

Dallas Unbeaten in 3 Games

First off, let’s focus on the Cowboys. Offensively, the Cowboys have looked phenomenal. Teams have been geared up to stop Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott has been good, but not great. When team’s have been loading up the box, Dak Prescott has been taking to the air. Prescott is averaging over 300 yards passing per game.  Defensively, the Cowboys has been good, but they have struggled to get to the quarterback this season. With Brees being out, the ball will be in the hands of backup Teddy Bridgewater.

The Cowboys will need to generate pressure on Bridgewater to get him out of his rhythm. The Saints have a good group of receivers, so if Bridgewater has time to read the field, he’ll complete the passes. The Dallas secondary will have its hands full with Michael Thomas and company on Sunday night.

Saints Beat Up; but Effective

Now, let’s take a look at the Saints offense. We already looked at Teddy Bridgewater and the passing game. The biggest key to the Saints being successful on the offensive side of the ball is  Alvin Kamara. Last Sunday against the Seahawks, he carried the ball 16 times for 69 yards, and caught nine passes for 92 yards. He’s currently fourth in the league with 390 yards from scrimmage. The New Orleans offense starts with Kamara. If the Cowboys allow him some space, he will do a lot of damage.

Stopping him will be a tough task, but the Cowboys will need to sell out to keep him in check. Defensively, the Saints have been in “bend but don’t break” mode. They’ve struggled to stop the run. That won’t bode well for the Saints, as they will have a tough matchup with Elliott. The passing defense has been a little bit better, but it’s still a weakness. If Amari Cooper gets some space, it could be a long day for the Saints defense.

Even though the Cowboys beat the Saints last year, the Saints have won four out of the last six matchups. The last six times that the Cowboys have traveled to New Orleans, the Cowboys were defeated in five of them. On paper, it looks like there will be a lot of points put up in this one. With two very good running backs leading their teams offenses, both teams will try to establish the ground game, and then go to the aerial attack.

Final Prediction for Cowboys vs Saints

Both of these teams are top contenders for the NFC crown. Even without Brees, the Saints are still one of the league’s top offenses. Will the home crowd be able to will the Saints to a victory, or will the Cowboys, who are 3 point road favorites, come in and silence the Superdome?
