Cowboys vs Eagles 2019 NFL Week 16 Odds, Preview & Expert Prediction

Dallas Cowboys will travel to their NFC East for Philadelphia Eagles in a hugely important game this Sunday. As both teams sit at 7-7, neither really deserves a spot in the playoffs but whoever wins this game will almost certainly host a playoff game on wildcard weekend. The Cowboys are coming off a crucial 42-21 win against the Rams in one of their best performances of the year.

The Eagles meanwhile had to score in the last minute in order to beat the Washington Redskins who are among the worst in the league. This should be an exciting game between bitter rivals who are fighting for their lives this season. Here is a closer look at this matchup while making some NFL Betting predictions.

Cowboys vs Eagles 2019 NFL Week 16 Odds, Preview & Expert Prediction

Dallas Cowboys

During the game against the Rams the Cowboys happened to find a pretty impressive duo in the backfield. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combined to rush for 248 yards and three touchdowns. During the previous meeting of these two teams Dallas was able to establish the run again as they had 189 yards.

It is the Passing game that really moves the ball for this team as they average over 300 a game through the air. Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper have had quite the connection this year as a result of the new offense they are running.

Dallas has to focus on the defense in this game though as their rush defense is only giving up 103 yards a game which is among the top half of the league. The defense is in the top ten for passing yards allowed and with the receiving corps of the Eagles pretty depleted, they should be able to slow down Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles were able to sneak away with a win against the Redskins 37-27 in a game that was closer than the score indicates. Rookie Miles Sanders has looked fantastic over the past few weeks including 122 yards rushing with two touchdowns and was able to add 50 more yards through the air. He will have his hands full after the Cowboys only let Gurley get 20 yards rushing last week.

Carson Wentz will have to play one of his best games of the season as his top three pass catchers are all out for this crucial matchup. His completion percentage is down almost 11 percent this year as a result.

Greg Ward Jr. came into last week with under one hundred yards on the season but answered the call when he caught five passes for 71 yards. Ward was able to double his yards and catches in just one game.

The rush defense and the front seven are the strength of this Philly team as they only allow 90 yards a game. They will need to continue to have that level of success in order to win this game and the division.

NFC East Title on the Line in Cowboys vs Eagles

Dallas is currently minus-2.5 favorites despite being the road team. Yes they looked good in the dismantling of the Rams last week but the only consistent thing this Cowboys team has done all year is lose big games to good teams. Philadelphia on the other hand has beaten several of the good teams they have played this year.

This seems to be a game the Eagles have found a way to win over the last few seasons and I don’t see that changing this week. The smart pick is the Philadelphia Eagles with plus-2.5 points to win this game.
