The first game of the season is the rematch of the Super Bowl a season ago. Super Bowl 50 was won by the Denver Broncos, and now they take on the Carolina Panthers to open up the 2016 season. Despite losing Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos remain as the favorite in this game. The Denver Broncos are listed as a field goal favorite, with the total at 43.5 in the season opener.
The first session of games on Sunday will feature some terrific football games. Out of the NFC South the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a 3.5 point underdog on the road at the Atlanta Falcons. The total for that game is at 48. The Minnesota Vikings are the first road underdog. The Vikings are a field goal underdog at Tennessee, with the two teams projected to combine for 42.5 points. The Philadelphia Eagles are 7.5 point favorites over the Cleveland Browns, with a total of 46. In a game that features two even teams, according to oddsmakers, the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets are a pick’em game in New York. The total is listed at 43.5. The New Orleans Saints are -1.5 at home over the Oakland Raiders, the San Diego Chargers are a 8 point underdogs at division rival Kansas City, with the two teams projected for 43.5. The final three games in the first session of games feature the Ravens -3 at home over the Bulls, the Bears +4.5 at Houston and the Packers as a 3.5 point favorite on the road at Jacksonville. The game in Baltimore has a total of 43.5, Houston sees 45.5 and the Jaguars/Packers are at 48.
In the evening games, the Miami Dolphins are at the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks are many people’s pick to win the Super Bowl, and they are a touchdown favorite in this game. The total for this game is listed at 45.5. The New York Giants are on the road at divisional rival Dallas, with the Cowboys as a 5.5 point favorite. The total for the game is 49.5. Finally, the Detroit Lions are in Indianapolis, to take on the Colts. The Colts are a 6 point favorite at home, with 50 as the total in one of the projected highest scoring games.
The Sunday Night Football Game features the New England Patriots on the road at the Arizona Cardinals. It’s the second game that’s a pick’em, despite the game being played in Phoenix. The total is listed at 51. Then, on Monday Night Football, there are two games to be played. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 2.5 favorites on the road at Washington, with 51 points as the total, and the final game sees the Los Angeles Rams -2.5 at the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams and 49ers are projected for 47 points.
