Week 10 of the NFL season will see the Chargers visit the Oakland Raiders. Last week, both teams were able to secure victories to put themselves back into wildcard contention. The intensity should be high as these division rivals need to win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. Lets take a look at the latest NFL Odds for Chargers vs Raiders while making some predictions.

Chargers vs Raiders 2019 NFL Week 10 Odds, Preview & Expert Pick

Chargers Playing Better

The Chargers are playing inspired football after their season saw them start off 2-5. Defense has been the unit to push this team as they are allowing only 14 points per game since winning two in a row. Joey Bosa has been unstoppable coming around the edge and looks like he could make a late push for defensive player of the year odds.

He was able to register 1.5 sacks last week but supplied constant pressure with 4 QB hits. Melvin Ingram has shown signs of life on the other end of the Chargers talented defensive line, after he was able to record a sack on Sunday as well.

Ken Whisenhunt was relieved of his duties as offensive play caller which opened the door for Shane Steichen. Steichen showed a commitment to establishing the run after season highs in rush yards (159 yards) and attempts (38).

Melvin Gordon looks to be rounding into form after his holdout as he accounted for 109 total yards and two touchdowns. 37 year old Phillip Rivers should be able to pick apart a raiders defense that gives up the most yards per game in the league. Matthew Stafford just last week posted 400 yards and a passer rating of 110.4 against Oakland.

Raiders Trying to Chase Down Division

The Oakland Raiders enter Thursday’s matchup just 1.5 games behind the first place Chiefs. They do so on the back of quarterback Derek Carr playing his best ball of his career with a passer rating of 105.7. When he is able to limit his turnovers this offense is able to move the ball almost at will.

Rookie of the Year front runner Josh Jacobs has been able to make an impact right away, as last week he had 120 yards and two touchdowns. The Raiders are responsible for the 6th ranked rushing offense with 136 yards a game.

The Secondary has far and away been the weak spot for Oakland. The Raiders are giving up 390 yards per game. They have allowed 27 touchdowns on the season and 22 of them have been through the air.

Oakland is usually unable to force turnovers as they only have four interceptions this year. They will need the run game to show up and eat some clock to keep this weak defense off the field.

Mybookie has this game with LA giving up a point (-1) and a total of 48.5.

Chargers vs Raiders is a Great AFC West Tilt

Both of these teams come into the game playing much better than they were to start the year. Despite the two game win streak that the Chargers are bringing into this one, look for the Raiders to secure a victory at home. Oakland will continue to see Josh Jacobs move the ball at will.

Expect to see the over hit as neither of the defenses in this game are particularly good in this one. The crowd will also be fired up as the last primetime game in Oakland before the move to Las Vegas next season. Jon Gruden will continue winning games despite the heavy skepticism that surrounded this team before the year. Take the Raiders and the point.
