Buffalo at Los Angeles Week 5 Betting Pick & Prediction

Posted by Peter Boysen on October 8, 2016 in

The Los Angeles Rams (3-1) and the Buffalo Bills (2-2) both enter this Week 5 tilt on a high, as the Bills went to New England and shut out the Patriots, 16-0, as New England played their last game during Tom Brady’s DeflateGate suspension. The Rams knocked off Arizona, 17-13, last week and moved into a first-place tie in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks. The Bills and Rams have met 76 times, and the series stands exactly even (37-37-2). Take a look at all of our NFL picks for this weekend.

Why should you bet on the Rams?

Before the season started, expectations were quite modest for the Rams as they returned to Los Angeles. They picked quarterback Jared Goff with the first overall draft choice, and he couldn’t even beat out Case Keenum for the starting job at quarterback, and when they started the season taking a 28-0 beating in San Francisco, they looked like they were headed to the basement of the NFC West. However, the Rams have since beaten the Seahawks at home and then traveled to Tampa Bay and Arizona to pick up more wins. Keenum wowed observers last week, going 18 for 30 for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns. David Johnson gave the offense balance, carrying the ball 17 times for 83 yards. The Ram defense kept the Cardinals in check and will give Tyrod Taylor and the rest of the Bill offense a real challenge.

Why should you put your money on the Bills?

Buffalo got off to a rough start, dropping a pair of games at Baltimore and then at home against the New York Jets. However, the Bills have turned things around in a big way, routing Arizona, 33-18, at home and then shutting out a Patriots team that featured their third-string quarterback but, to be fair, had beaten all comers without Tom Brady up to that point. LeSean McCoy picked up 70 yards on 19 carries in that game, and quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for 246 yards and galloped for a 28-yard scamper. Marcell Dareus returns this week from a four-game suspension and will help the defense even more against the Rams.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Buffalo has kicked into a new gear the last two weeks, and the results have been impressive. I like them to continue that momentum in the L.A. Coliseum and come away with a 24-17 victory.
