NFL Betting Prediction for AFC Divisional Round

Posted by Derrick Harper on January 10, 2018 in

We are down to 4 teams left in the AFC. There are 3 games left until we get one of them to the Super Bowl LII to take on the NFC winner. This weekend is a huge one, as the divisional round games are here. Let’s take a look at the NFL Betting Odds and Predictions for the AFC Divisional Round.

NFL Betting Prediction for AFC Divisional Round

New England Patriots -13 over Tennessee Titans

The New England Patriots are going to come into this game angry. The Patriots have all sorts of drama going on inside their organization, but they are still a tremendous football team. Tom Brady is 40 years old but has the tools to beat anyone, anywhere in the league. They take on a Titans team that had no business beating the Chiefs in the first round. The Patriots are the top team in the AFC after winning 13 games. New England beat the Steelers, and will likely have to beat them again next week to get back to the Super Bowl.

The Tennessee Titans saw a monster game from their running back Derrick Henry last week. They may not get DeMarco Murray back this week and cause a little bit of a two-headed running back monster. But, the key is going to be Marcus Mariota. Can he take care of the football enough in this game? How are the Titans going to slow down the New England offense? In our mind – they are not. The Patriots should run away with this game on Saturday and head back to another AFC title game.

Latest NFL Betting Trends for AFC Divisional Round

  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Tennessee’s last 7 games
  • New England is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games

Pittsburgh Steelers -7 over Jacksonville Jaguars

The Pittsburgh Steelers got whipped by the Jacksonville Jaguars during the regular season. Ben Roethlisberger was awful throwing 5 interceptions in the game. That’s impressive, and the Jaguars defense has made many quarterbacks look bad. But, that happening is not going to bode well for them this weekend. The Steelers are expecting to get Antonio Brown back, the best receiver in the game. The Jaguars can defend the pass, but with Brown back – there are too many Steelers weapons. The run game sees Le’Veon Bell smashing on a weekly basis.

Steelers are huge NFL Betting favorites against the Jaguars.

For the Jaguars – Blake Bortles is going to have to have an amazing game for them to have a chance. Bortles passing game has not been really strong, and that’s a big problem. The Steelers are going to be an irritated bunch, and come away with an easy win. A touchdown spread in this game is not enough. Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers get their chance but have to go back to Foxboro for the AFC title game.
