Baltimore Ravens vs New Orleans Saints NFL Preseason Week 4 Pick

Written by on August 31, 2016

The Baltimore Ravens head down to the Crescent City to take on the New Orleans Saints in the preseason finale for both teams on Thursday night. Despite the fact that the Ravens are 3-0 in the preseason and the Saints have lost all three of their preseason tilts — by an average margin of 10.7 points — the Saints are still favored to win by five. Let’s take a look at the reason behind these NFL odds for this matchup.

How to Bet on the Baltimore Ravens vs New Orleans Saints NFL Preseason Week 4 Pick & TV Info

When: Thursday, September 1, 2016, 8:00pm ET Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans TV: WVUE FOX 8 New Orleans Radio: Baltimore / New Orleans Live Stream: NFL.com NFL Odds: New Orleans (-5)

Why should you bet on Baltimore?

While many of the Ravens’ starters will sit for Week 4, just trying to remain healthy and get rested before the regular season opens in about 10 days, the Ravens do expect to play rookie wideout Breshad Perriman, whom they picked #26 overall in the 2015 NFL draft. He went down with a knee injury in the first day of training camp, spraining a PCL, but then he hurt himself warming up for Game 3 of the 2015 regular season and went on injured reserve. Despite tweaking his ACL in OTAs this year, he was cleared to practice on August 22 and will be looking to make a splash against a New Orleans secondary that is, shall we say, generous.

Why should you put your money on the Saints?

The Saints just picked up defensive end Chris McCain from Miami in an attempt to shore up their pass rush, and they are also looking at DE Paul Kruger, who the Browns just released. If they can get on the field in time for Thursday night, they could make life difficult for the Ravens’ rushing and passing games. Given that starting quarterback Drew Brees is not likely to play, I see the Saints having a difficult time moving the ball up and down the field, but given that there will be massive infusions of reserves on both sides, it’s hard to say how hard it will actually be.

My Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t see the Saints reversing what has been a losing course for the preseason in Week 4. I’m predicting a 20-16 Baltimore victory.
