Houston at Tennessee NFL Betting Preview
This week, the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans meet at 1:00pm Eastern time at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. This game has been off the board as far as NFL betting point spreads go this week. However, the Texans have a chance to win the AFC South if they can keep winning, while the Titans are playing for moral victories at this point.

Why should you pick the Titans?
Tennessee (3-11) is a lot more competitive this year, even though they have only won one more game. They average 19.2 points per game, though, and with Marcus Mariota out backup quarterback Zach Mettenberger will be at the helm. He has completed 67.6 percent of his passes in relief of Mariota, and the Titans have been in just about every game this year, allowing 25.6 points per contest. They could surprise a Houston team at home if they can jump out early.
Why should you choose Houston?
The Texans are in first place in the moribund AFC South, with a 7-7 record. Thanks to the Colts’ struggles this year, Houston can win the division by winning out. This should motivate them to play well. Brandon Weeden is the likely starter at quarterback unless Brian Hoyer can pass the concussion protocol. The Texans have found Alfred Blue (551 yards, two touchdowns) as a solid replacement for Arian Foster so far. J.J. Watt anchors a solid Texans defense that sacks quarterbacks left and right and has 17 takeaways this year.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
The Texans have the motivation — winning out and taking the AFC South — and they have the defense to win this game, particularly with Mettenberger at quarterback and with the Titans not having much of a running game. Houston is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against teams with losing records. I like Houston to win, 23-6.
