Week 3 of the preseason is when we see more of the starters and some of the more highly contested positional battles are decided. Let’s preview the NFL Betting action for Preseason Week 3.

2019 NFL Preseason Week 3 Odds, Overview & Picks

Thursday, August 22

New York Giants @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Giants come into this game at 2-0. Rookie QB Daniel Jones has looked impressive in the first 2 games, as he looks to try to win the starting job from Eli Manning. Speaking of Manning, he should see a lot of the field this week. We could also see the preseason debut of Saquon Barkley.

As for the Bengals, Andy Dalton has seen action in the first two preseason games. The Bengals have yet to name Dalton’s backup, so we should see a lot of Ryan Finley and Jeff Driskell.

Look for the Giants to go to 3-0 after this one.

Washington Redskins @ Atlanta Falcons

The Redskins are winless thus far in the preseason. It looks like Case Keenum will win the starting quarterback job, but we should also see a lot of rookie Dwayne Haskins. Adrian Peterson, Chris Thompson, and Samaje Perine should see a lot of work out of the backfield.

The Falcons will let Matt Ryan and Devonta Freeman see more action this week. Julio Jones won’t suit up, but we will see Calvin Ridley in action.

Take the Falcons in this one.

Carolina Panthers @ New England Patriots

The Patriots are 2-0 thus far. It’s doubtful that we see Tom Brady, so we should see a lot of Jarrett Stidham under center.

As for the Panthers, neither Christian McCaffery nor Cam Newton played last week, and it’s doubtful that either one of them see action this week.

Bill Belichick hates to lose. Go Pats in this one.
Baltimore Ravens @ Philadelphia Eagles
Lamar Jackson has looked good in the preseason for the Ravens. We have seen a lot of his legs, but the passing accuracy still needs some work.

As for the Eagles, we’ll see Carson Wentz in action. Due to injuries to Nate Sudfeld and Cody Kessler, the now un-retired Josh McCown should see some action as the backup to Wentz.

Ravens win this one.

Green Bay Packers @ Oakland Raiders

This one will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Aaron Rodgers will see his first preseason action of 2019. We’ll get to see how he has taken to Matt LaFleur’s offensive scheme.

Antonio Brown is still fighting with the NFL over his helmet, so we probably won’t be seeing him in action. The Raiders will be trying to find their backup quarterback, as Mike Glennon and Nathan Peterman are battling for that spot.

Go Pack Go!

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Miami Dolphins

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be under center with the starting offensive unit. It looks as though he will be the starting quarterback, and will be backed up by Josh Rosen.

As for the Jaguars, Nick Foles will be making his debut as a Jaguar.

Jacksonville will defeat the Dolphins.

Friday, August 23

Cleveland Browns @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Browns are 2-0 in the preseason. We will see more of Baker Mayfield, and will probably see more of Kareem Hunt this week. Hunt will be suspended for the first part of the season.

Jameis Winston has impressed thus far. Bruce Arians will be looking for his backup, as Ryan Griffin and Blaine Gabbert are both vying for the position.

The Browns will stay undefeated after this one.

Buffalo Bills @ Detroit Lions

Josh Allen has looked good for the Bills, as has the Buffalo defense.

Detroit is winless in the preseason. We should see Matthew Stafford take some snaps. David Fales and Josh Johnson will see a majority of the snaps as they fight it out for the backup quarterback position.

Bills win a close one.

Saturday, August 24

Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray will see more snaps, as he tries to get into the groove of the offense.

How much of Kirk Cousins and the starting offensive unit will we see? If we see a decent amount, then it will be the Vikings game to win.

Houston Texans @ Dallas Cowboys

Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins will look to get more action this week. Joe Webb has looked impressive as Houston’s second string QB.
Dallas is still dealing with the Zeke Elliott contract issue. Rookie RB Tony Pollard was impressive last week.

Houston wins the Battle of Texas.

Chicago Bears @ Indianapolis Colts

The Bears have struggled offensively in the preseason.

Without Andrew Luck, the Colts have also struggled on the offensive side of the ball.

Colts win at home.

New Orleans Saints @ New York Jets

We’re not sure how much, if any, of Drew Brees we’ll see. Teddy Bridgewater has struggled in the first 2 games.

Sam Darnold has been stellar for the Jets. Defensively, the Jets have been tough to score upon.

Jets win this one.

San Francisco 49ers @ Kansas City Chiefs

The 49ers have depth at running back, and we should see that in action on Friday.

The Chiefs defense is still a weakness.

49ers win.

Denver Broncos @ LA Rams

How much of Joe Flacco will we see? Will we see much from the Rams starting offensive unit?

The Broncos have more to work on with a new coaching staff. They’ll win this one.

Seattle Seahawks @ LA Chargers

The Chargers have yet to see Melvin Gordon in camp, and may not see him this season. They’re deep at the RB position, and will be looking for someone to take Gordon’s spot.

The Seahawks will be looking to get their young WR group some more action.

Chargers win.

Sunday, August 25

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans

Can Ryan Tannehill take the starting QB spot from Marcus Mariota? Mariota has struggled in the preseason.

The Steelers will use their deep group of RB’s to pound the ball.

Titans win.
