Top NCAA Basketball Betting Picks of the Week – December 11th

Posted by Derrick Harper on December 11, 2018 in

As we’re entering the final few weeks before conference play begins, the NCAA Basketball Betting favorites to win it all are trying to pad their win total by playing weaker non-conference opponents. Up until Saturday, there are very few top matchups. But come Saturday, that all changes and some of the powerhouses from the top conferences square off. Here are some of this week’s top games alongside the latest betting odds.

Top NCAA Basketball Betting Picks of the Week – December 11th

(17) Villanova @ (1) Kansas

The #1 rated and undefeated Kansas Jayhawks will host the defending National Champions at Phog Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks own victories over #10 Michigan State, and #5 Tennessee. Kansas just squeaked by on Saturday with a 63-60 victory over New Mexico State. Kansas

Villanova lost most of their contributors from their National Championship team, so this has been a learning experience for the Wildcats. Will their youth and inexperience be able to tame the Jayhawks and the ghosts in the Allen Fieldhouse? Kansas plays tight ones. The Wildcats cover, the Jayhawks win.

(3) Tennessee @ Memphis

Right now, Tennessee is sitting at the top of the state. Coming off of their victory over #1 Gonzaga, the Volunteers are riding high. They’ll travel to Memphis on Saturday to take on the Tigers.

Rick Barnes has his Vols playing a rough, tough, physical style of basketball. Their victories are pretty, but they play physical and are good on the defensive side of the ball.

Memphis enters the contest with a 5-4 record. Penny Hardaway, who was hired to bring the program back to prominence, is just wanting to stay competitive this season. He has hit the recruiting trail hard, and next year will be bringing in some of the top freshmen in the country.

For now, Tennessee is the top program in the state. Memphis wants to prove to the Vols that the state should belong to them. The Volunteers are talented, but they lose on the road in this game.

(4) Gonzaga @ (12) North Carolina

Earlier this season, Roy Williams had hit rock bottom with his Tar Heels. After a loss to Michigan, the veteran head coach had nothing good to say about his team. Other than a blowout win over UNC-Wilmington, UNC hasn’t played any other games since the loss to Michigan.

Gonzaga is not a safe NCAA Basketball Betting pick for this week.

Gonzaga was flying high and sitting atop the rankings. They owned a victory of the mighty Duke Blue Devils, had beaten Washington on a last-second shot, and were taking care of business. Tennessee put an end to that earlier this week as they defeated the Bulldogs.

Gonzaga will want to prove to everyone that they can go on the road and win a big game. North Carolina will want to show everyone that the team that got destroyed by Michigan isn’t the real North Carolina.

This match-up should be a fast-paced offensive battle. Look for a lot of fast break points in this one. The Tar Heels win this game in a thriller.

What a great weekend of College Basketball. Best of luck with all your bets and enjoy the games!
