Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – January 28th Edition

Golden State Warriors at Indiana Pacers – Monday, January 28th at 7:00 PM EST

The Golden State Warriors just continue to impress. Boogie Cousins showed he is well on his way to being back and better than ever. His presence was felt at the rim and the unique availability for a big man in that system will continue to showcase big-time box scores. Getting lane penetration frees up their outstanding shooters in Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and vice versa.

Their offense can hurt their opponent in so many ways. They create a true mismatch at all positions because they have playmakers that normally would be the number one priority to stop, except they have those players at all starting five positions. They also have immense versatility with players like Cousins, Durant, and Green. Each of those players can play multiple positions and with great success. The Pacers just don’t have much to compete with them except for Victor Oladipo, which I think is a top 15 talent in the league. Bottom line, I like the Warriors to win this by a score of 118 – 102.

Brooklyn Nets at Boston Celtics – Monday, January 28th at 7:30 PM EST

Boston is one of the best teams in the league. Although Brooklyn has a decent record, their talent level just cannot compete with the Celtics. D’Angelo Russell is certainly not a Kyrie level talent.

On top of that, the Celtics feature too much depth with players like Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier, and Jayson Tatum to have long stretches of game time without scoring in bunches. I like the Celtics to bounce back after their loss to the Warriors and prove they are still the kings of the hill in the East. I like them to win 114 – 104.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Orlando Magic – Tuesday, January 29th at 7:00 PM EST

Orlando is one of the weakest teams in the NBA and their 20-29 record shows that. Oklahoma City has a great core of talent with Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and Stephen Adams. Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon are simply not enough to combat the offensive production that Oklahoma City can bring.

The Thunder should be one of your NBA Betting picks of the week.

Between Paul George and Russell Westbrook, you can pretty much count of 50-70 points per game. The supporting cast is good for at least another 40 points combined. I’m just not sure the Magic is capable of putting up 110 points per game. I’ll take the Thunder to outlast them by a score of 112-103.

Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers – Thursday, January 31st at 10:30 PM EST

King James takes on one of the worst teams in the league right now, oh and did I mention that he doesn’t have to travel for this road game either? LeBron has shown that he can be a world-class scorer, a defensive force, and now a mentor. The Clippers have a better record than the lakers at this point, but don’t let that fool you.

When LeBron is on the floor, he is the best player in the arena. In their last meeting, Kyle Kuzma, Tyson Chandler, and Lonzo Ball couldn’t hold off Lou Williams who went for 36 points. This time around, I’ll imagine LeBron being a factor in shutting him down. I expect a Laker victory by a score of 109-102.
