NASCAR Betting Preview & Prediction for 2018 Pocono 400

Posted by Derrick Harper on May 31, 2018 in

The first of two trips to Pennsylvania this season – the Pocono 400 will take place this weekend. The track is nearly a triangle shaped race that finished in just shy of 3 hours a season ago. This race always has the best racers participate, but you never know who is going to come away as the winner. The winner last season was Ryan Blaney, and that was the fourth straight season that a new winner took the checkered flag. It will be an interesting race this season as well. Let’s take a look at our NASCAR Betting preview on the 2018 Pocono 400 Odds.

NASCAR Betting Preview & Prediction for 2018 Pocono 400

Kyle Busch 3/1

Kyle Busch is won of the favorites to win this event. You are not getting the best of odds, but you are getting someone that can win. And, if you believe in the trend of new winners at Pocono, he has never won this race. In saying that – his averages finishes are 6.3 – so he is contending.

Martin Truex Jr 6/1

Possibly the best driver in the field right now. He finished runner-up in back to back weeks and has not finished outside the Top 5 in each of his last 12 events. Still, just one title under his belt this season, the odds are fairly favorable for a guy that will put himself in a good spot to win during this weekend’s race.

Ryan Blaney 10/1

Many people have skipped right over Ryan Blaney. He has pretty big odds, so we like him quite a bit. The winner a season ago, and overall in four finishes at Pocono, he averages 13th. He also won the Camping World Truck Series at Pocono back to 2013. If he was able to win this weekend, he would be the first since Jeff Gordon to win this event in back to back years.

Kurt Busch 20/1

Busch has not had a great season, with zero victories. He has raced fairly well though with Top 10 finishes in his last 4 races. He finished 8th or better in 5 out of his last 7. That’s why many in the industry feel it’s time to break through and win this event, much like he did in 2016.

Jimmie Johnson 50/1

Remember this guy? Many have left Johnson off their betting card for weeks. Last week he finished 5th. He has yet to win one this season, but a 9th place or better in four out of his last six.

Jimmie Johnson is one of the NASCAR Betting favorites to win the 2010 Pocono 400.

At 50/1 – you would be crazy to not at least give a thought to Jimmie Johnson taking down this title.

When push comes to shove – we are going with the hot hand. We are going to take Martin Truex Jr at 6/1 odds to win this title. He won it in 2015 – and will grab another title in 2018. If we were placing other bets – Jimmie Johnson at 50/1 would be one worth a few bucks. Have a great weekend and enjoy the NASCAR Betting action!
