2018 Japanese Grand Prix Odds & Expert Pick

This weekend’s 2018 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka will be a highly contested race as the F1 circuit heads into its final four races of the season. This race will take place at the Suzuka Circuit, Suzuka, Mile Prefecture Japan.

Last year, Lewis Hamilton won, and it was the third time in four seasons, and his fourth title at this race, which is why he’s the 2018 odds favorite. Michael Schumacher still has the most wins at this race, as he won 6 in a span of 10 years. The last time Schumacher won was in 2004. Sebastian Vettel is tied with Hamilton with four titles, but he has not won one since 2013.

2018 Japanese Grand Prix Odds & Expert Pick

Lewis Hamilton 4/5

Lewis Hamilton, who is leading the standings is looking for win number 6 in his last 7 races. Hamilton has won 3 straight and his looking to put the Driver’s Championship out of everyone else’s reach. There is no doubt, he is the favorite coming into this. The question is can he grab his 5th title with the pressure of the race on him. It will be interesting to see how Hamilton starts this race. We may know right away.

Sebastian Vettel 2/1

Hamilton’s rival, Sebastian Vettel would love nothing better than to spoil things for Hamilton. Vettel is still in contention for the championship but needs a victory here.

Sebastian Vettel is one of the favorites to win the 2018 Japanese Grand Prix.

Vettel is a racer that seems to stay poised in big spots. This is a Jordan/Magic type rivalry in this sport, and there is no doubt that they both want to come away with their 5th title. This seems like a spot Vettel could come under the radar a bit.

Valtteri Botas 9/1

Valtteri Botas was ready to take last week’s checkered flag until he was ordered to let Hamilton, his Mercedes teammate overtake him. Look for Botas to be near the top of the finishing order at the Japanese Grand Prix. It would certainly be a bold move to bet on Botas to win this event, but if you are placing a bet on a show bet, this is one to do so. It’s kind of like the Big 2, with Botas riding the coat tails as the next best. Botas is 9/1 odds.

This race is Lewis Hamilton’s to lose. He has won 3 of his last 4 races at Suzuka, and he is dominating the F1 circuit this season. Barring a crash, I look for Hamilton to race to victory and solidify his place atop the Driver’s Championship standings. Best of luck with all your 2018 Japanese Grand Prix betting this weekend, and enjoy the Japanese Grand Prix!
