Washington at Arizona Week 4 Betting Pick & Prediction

Posted by Peter Boysen on September 21, 2016 in

The Washington Huskies have cracked the top 10 in the AP poll, as they have now won six games in a row. So far in 2016, they have routed Rutgers (48-13), Idaho (59-14) and Portland State (41-3). In the meantime, Arizona went down on a late field goal to BYU, although they rebounded for wins over Grambling State (31-21) and Hawaii (47-28) in the last two weeks. The teams prepare to meet for the 32nd time, with Arizona leading the series 20-11-1. However, it has been eight years since the road team won this matchup; in 2015, Washington won up in Seattle by a resounding 49-3 margin. Check out all of our college football lines for Week 4.

Washington at Arizona Week 4 Betting Pick, Prediction & TV Info

When: Saturday, September 24, 2016, 10:30pm ET
Where: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ
TV: Pac-12 Network
Radio: Washington / Arizona
Live Stream: Pac-12 Networks Live
NCAA Football Odds: Washington (-9.5)

Why should you bet on the Huskies?

Washington has scored 40 points or more in each of the wins in their six-game run. Quarterback Jake Browning is tops in FBS with pass efficiency at 206.9, and he threw for four touchdowns against Portland State. He has a 12:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio for his career. Chico McClatcher (two touchdowns against Portland State) and Myles Gaskin (13 carries, 93 yards, 1 TD) lead the way for the Washington offense. On the defensive side, Washington is in the top three in the nation for turnover margin and scoring defense. Some teams score a lot of points but also give up a ton; the Huskies score a lot, but opponents have a hard time finding the end zone against them.

Why should you put your money on the Wildcats?

Arizona had to resort to Brandon Dawkins at quarterback against Hawaii, and he responded with a 16-for-21 performance, picking up 235 yards and throwing for a score, while running for 118 yards and three more touchdowns. J.J. Taylor leads a dynamic rushing attack, picking up 168 yards and a score on just 18 carries in the Hawaii game. Rich Rodriguez is one of the best coaches in the Pac-12, so if there are vulnerabilities in the Washington attack, he is one of the few coaches who will be able to find them.

My Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

Arizona has some promise in this game, and Arizona Stadium is a tough place for visiting teams to find victories. However, the Washington juggernaut has a lot of power right now. I like Chris Petersen’s team to end the streak of home wins in this series and prevail, 31-20.
